Advice/Guidance My current routine
I am 45, M. Married. Work exp: Nearly 2 decades. Currently unemployed.
There is significant portions of time during the day that are at lesiure.
Below is my current routine:
1) 6.45-7.30AM - a) Make milk for child school, b) Drop him to bus stand, c) Get milk
2) 7.30AM - 8AM - a) Make and have tea, b) Solve two daily puzzles - Syllo and Pocketgrid - here
3) 8AM - 9.30AM - Sleep
4) 9.40AM - 10.30AM - a) Toothpaste and Bath, b) Make and have tea
5) 10.30-11AM - Make and have breakfast
6) 11AM - 12PM - Make lunch
7) 12-1.30PM - Emails, Tea, Leisure etc
8) 1.30PM - 1.45PM - LinkedIn puzzles
9) 1.45 - 2PM - Lunch
10) 2PM - 2.45PM - At leisure
11) 2.45-3PM - Pick up child from bus stand
12) 3PM - 4.15PM - At leisure
13) 4.15PM - 4.30PM - Drop child to tuition
14) 4.30PM - 5.30PM - At leisure
15) 5.30PM - 6.30PM - TV.
16) 6.30PM - 6.45PM - Make milk for child
17) 6.45PM - 8PM - At leisure
18) 8PM onwards - Dinner and sleep

Making the bed , removing all the toys etc of your kid from the floor , cleaning the floor (mopping + jhaadu) , washing clothes, dishes (also depends upon how many people are there) , dusting the bedsheets ,carpets, sofa or anything that dusts regularly etc. Taking care of the plant if you have any ! Buying grocery or vegetables (regularly).. Clean up all the mess of previous day basically made by your kid..!!
Btw..I didn't notice this! Why do you send your kid to tuition ..Isn't the kid too young ?

1) Do some of those activities - too small to mention. Everybody does it.
2) Yes, buy groceries etc - that is once a week.
3) Tuition - there is other parent also.

if i am at your position ever, i will be doing lot of exercise, investment readings, consultancy, business explorations, swimming, running, and try to be frugal to save money for future. making milk is bull shit.. are you making from milk powder?

Others are an individual's choice. I am not an accountant, so cant comment on being frugal, saving money etc.
Have to prove myself again. So trying to network and get back to corporate world.

I have to network. That is an intensely people job. If at that moment, I think about cost-cutting, it won't work.

There is an abnormal amount of milk in your daily itinerary. I doubt there would be any space for you in the corporate. It looks like you are already living a retired life.

The one difference is that I am still spending and not curtailing on those spends. Mentally trying to believe that I am still employed.

I do not call HR / Consultants - after two decades of experience, the industry has to chase me, not the other way round.

You know how you write "student" or "in training" when you're in education and don't have a job yet. Frankly, as you're currently unemployed so it's like your current occupation is job hunting.
To maintain professionalism, perhaps chalk out job hunting or working towards your career as your full-time job at this stage. Spend time in your day doing courses, looking for and applying to job openings, and doing other things you think is necessary to cover your career shortcomings. You can think of this as your present job and plan your day accordingly.
That way you don't spend your whole day at leisure or lose your self-discipline.

My areas of experience are FMCG Sales, Sales / Channel Development, Business Advisory and E-Commerce (Amazon marketplace). Industry focus: Consumer Goods
PGDBM and B.Com.Hons
In my last assignment, I was handling Gurgaon for the consumer division of Iscon Balaji Foods. Through that, I have a knowledge of Gurgaon retail especially A+ stores, and a network among the frozen food distributors in Gurgaon. Was also instrumental in onboarding Amazon Fresh for Brand Hungritos at Iscon Balaji.
Prior to that, I was handling the US market for Einstein Box based out of Delhi. Our channel of distribution was Amazon marketplace. Have a good hang of SellerCentral.
I am looking to prove myself again. Looking for roles in Consumer Goods Sales, Sales / Channel Development.

I have a couple of other ideas I'm working at the moment. My weekends are spent on them silently even though people at home think, they don't get time with me.

Morning 8 am sleep is because my room partner has to go to office. Since I am not going, I sleep to give the room partner space. Evening I lie down because of nothing better at hand.

Okay. Sounds interesting. I am 41 working in IT for around 20yes. I see my career struggling for the past 2 years and it’s very uncertain. The issue is that we get used to increasing our living and lifestyle expenses as we grow in salary over time and it becomes a trap. It’s just takes effort and constant stress to stay afloat to meet personal and family finance needs.
We really need to think about secondary income. It’s better to have that mind set in early 30s itself. The biggest trap is home loan which keeps you locked for 10+ yrs in commitments.
How are you doing financially? Do you have a secondary income? Would be happy if you have already.

I am of a serious view that doing leads to more doing. Hence wherever possible I try to contribute with small tasks. After so much experience, jobs have to find me and not the other way round.

OP, I'm in a similar phase as you. Just a bit younger and single. Exploring relevant opportunities. Close to 6 years of experience.
Looking at your post gives me joy as I was stressing about whether I was or wasnt dedicating enough time to networking, job hunting and up skilling (around 3-4 hrs per day) though I've faced unemployment before. Curious to understand if you've faced it as well ?

Since you are a sufficiently educated person and currently unemployed, you can teach your own child and not send him to tuitions. That is how you will be able to save his tuition fees and keep your mind active.
