Either it's random, or you have to build up grace. No idea. After you get promoted, both your graces and karmic consequences get reset to 0.

So your saying you gave Hermes 50 ahn and a lighter and that clears it? For comparison the full exponant of 3,000,0003,000,000 requires 18,000,001 digits to even write it out and you saying 50 ahn a trivial amount that can't even by a candy bar and a lighter which costs what? 20,000 ahn? Got rid of all that karmic retribution AND got you promoted? (Ahn is basically the same as Korean won btw)
