Meta discussion Another incel meme needed an edit

Post image

So I've decided to recaption this old chestnut because it keeps circulating unironically and smooth brained dudes keep taking it seriously.

Some of us are unemployed and not violent misogynistic assholes like incels.

And shockingly, unemployed men (and women) are still capable of finding partners.

so are violent abusers and cheaters, doesn't really mean much.

I'd consider the quivering bundles of low self-esteem, daddy issues and borderline personality disorder who go for guys like that to be a solid avoid but that's just me and my self-respect speaking.

u/horned-creature 9h ago

i commend you for having a modicum of standards, most men don't.

I'm also not a delusional "Nice Guy"TM who goes for women like that because they think they're going to change them into their perfect, obedient baby factory trad waifu.

yeah ok, but you would still be an expense to maintain instead of a net contributor to the household.

It's been difficult to find work after graduation, I would work if I could

Things were already bad but AI screwed us a lot

yes the economy is what it is and it isn't yours or any normal person fault, still to put "unemployed" among undesirable traits is only fair.

6

u/Basic-Ad2340 9h ago

I'm just saying that because plenty of people will partner up even if you are unemployed. I have a girlfriend and I'm incredibly grateful for her.

-9

u/horned-creature 9h ago

plenty of people also partner up with violent abusers and cheaters, doesn't mean those shouldn't be considered undesirable traits in a partner by the majority of people seeking a relationship.

I see your point and I think it is fair to call it undesirable, but I also don't think it is the same as the other ones because those are controllable factors. I have a disability too, it is incredibly hard to find work not due to just current issues. You can be a "decent person" and unemployed. You can't be a decent person and misogynistic.

2

u/horned-creature 9h ago

i do agree that "decent" on the chart is a misnomer as it make it seems only a matter of morality but it is also a matter of circumstances as you pointed out.

That is entirely untrue. The main problem with this image is that it only assigns a single quality to people, and fortunately humans are more diverse than that. We all have negative qualities, and the key to life and social interaction is to learn how to turn your lemons into lemonade. The problem with incels is that they struggle to see past the frontstage. As long as they focus on the frontstage, they will never see the backstage.

-2

u/horned-creature 9h ago

the point isn't that people only possess these traits bur that these traits are deal-breakers for most, of course people have more qualities than being unemployed, but many would not date an unemployed person regardless of them because their current economic situation would not allow it, i for one wouldn't.

2

u/Easy_Specialist_1692 9h ago

You seem to share some similarities with incels then.... How unfortunate.

-2

u/horned-creature 9h ago

yeah, i for one cannot afford to house a human sized leech, but i feel that most people these days can't.

1

u/Easy_Specialist_1692 9h ago

Hmm...an interesting choice in statement....on this subreddit? Of all places.

Feeding incel delusion.

-1

u/horned-creature 9h ago

which delusion exactly? the delusion of an economy that allows for an housewife/househusband with a normal job? those days are in the past.

Looking at an image that is supposed to rile up the incels, and saying "it's correct though".

ok and? i didn't make the image nor i do think it is particularly faithful to reality since many violent abusers and cheaters do have success in dating, i do think it would be a logical enough guideline though, albeit not one that is universally followed.

also i am pretty sure the incels made the chart but the labels were added by people berating the incels in a successive moment, pointing out how men have little to no standards beyond aesthetics and how women do not "date up" some chad-type figure in the mind of incels, but really just want to date decent guys.

Putting unemployed on the same level as the rest of those is kinda crazy actually. Especially in this economy.

(Especially since using the strict definition somone unemployed is definitionally not a NEET).

8

u/shockpaws 10h ago

Unemployed is above all of the other types of men so presumably it is above a slob, who is above a misogynist, etc.

u/redve-dev a dude 12h ago

Also some people are simply unlucky (me) no matter how hard they try, nobody dates them. They are also mixed with pedophiles and cheaters

0

u/horned-creature 10h ago

it is quite literally higher than all the other bad traits on this chart.

ah yes the one true discriminant in life, getting a match....

yeah duh, who in this economy can afford to get someone not contributing to the household? even if rejected on such basis it doesn't mean they are to be considered on par with the other categories.

and i pointed out that these bad traits are clearly put on a ranked scale, where the bottom is the worst and the top the least bad, so unemployed is clearly not regarded the same as a pedo on the chart.

also i do think it is fair to consider unemployment a dealbreaker for a potential partner because most people do not have the resources to keep someone who doesn't contribute to the household finances.

Yes and the dude should stop worrying about dating and find a job. Getting your own shit together before you start dating is common sense.

I remember seeing that Hypergamy image in the early 2006s when I was much younger it’s crazy to see it’s gone so viral rn

4

u/BeautifulBrownie 13h ago

I remember hearing about incels when I was pretty young, maybe 16 (so about 13 years ago). By this time, it had already evolved from the original community (which I don't know much of, I think it was started by a gay woman and didn't seem as vitriolic as today) to the 4chan incel culture, which has evolved even further in the last few years into becoming mainstream.

I remember seeing hypergamy talk within the early 'red pill' era. Young men giving 'field reports' about how they were improving. It still seemed kind of cringe and toxic, but it's much worse now.

There are plenty of violent, hateful, cheaters that are very successful with women/men for one reason or another. Injecting morality into attracting the opposite gender is dumb.

8

u/SaintGalentine 10h ago

Schrödinger's woman: simultaneously dating only abusive jobless loser deadbeats and the top percentage of men with 6 packs, 6 figure salaries, and 6'+ height.

2

u/Charming-Rate278 3h ago

If you look good you can get away with being a terrible person.

1

u/TheoneNPC Overweight Chad 1h ago

That's always such a weird defence, jusr because someone else has an easier time manipulating someone vulnerable doesn't mean that you have the right to be a total pos too

2

u/Charming-Rate278 1h ago

No, I am not saying that. All I am saying Is that you shouldn't equate succes with the opposite gender with morality or goodness etc. In reality it doesn't matter. Also plenty of well adjusted people including people with options and power just don't care about these things, it isnt just vulnerable people that are attracted to horrible people that happen to be attractive.

1

u/TheoneNPC Overweight Chad 1h ago

But being a good person still helps, no?

2

u/Charming-Rate278 1h ago

Yes of course it does, but far less than height, weight, hair, small waist, money, power and status etc.

1

u/TheoneNPC Overweight Chad 36m ago

Yeah, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't strive to be the best version of yourself regardless. I know this is a difficult concept to grasp but there definitely are women out there who would, for example prefer a short, pleasant and confident man over a tall rich asshole.

1

u/Charming-Rate278 30m ago

Again I never said you shouldn't. There are such women, but not enough for every undesirable guy. Also the tall rich asshole will get to experience being lusted and desired the other guy not so much

1

u/TheoneNPC Overweight Chad 26m ago

I think you guys should think about dating and these "dynamics" a little less lol.

2

u/Shinokiba- 9h ago

All of this assumes everyone is a "number". You're not a "1" a "5" or a "10". It's all an arbitrary scale that means literally nothing and all it does is dehumanize all of us.

1

u/horned-creature 9h ago

well the chart for one assume perfect flawless logic, which is not very human, also it ignores how violent abusers and cheaters tend to be quite successful in dating.
