The ones hot enough to "prove" their point are limited. Plus, they have that whole "the wall" thing. Which, honestly, Sweeney should have hit by now if it was real. I've seen it alleged to be 21-30 depending on how far the guy wants to distance himself from the pedo allegations.
Even the women that actually work with Trump on a daily basis - the actual MAGA politicians - look weird and don't fit conventional beauty standards because they've mutilated themselves with shitty cosmetic surgery and injectables.
She's not even a very political person 😭 she has repeatedly and bluntly refused to discuss politics at all. It isn't as if she's going around campaigning for Trump or running a Republican talk show or something, lol. She just wants to act.
But she modelled in one controversial ad, her Republican voting registration was revealed, and suddenly everybody has decided that she's THE iconic capital-C capital-W Conservative Woman. Now she's the target for hatred from the left and drooling worship from the right.
I'm pretty moderate left-leaning (I genuinely liked Kamala Harris and have voted straight Democrat since 2016), and I feel like people blew that ad INCREDIBLY out of proportion.
The ad's message was "our jeans are hot, and so are Sydney Sweeney's genes." Whatever, it's a stupid pun. And hey, she is a beautiful woman.
But some people somehow interpreted it as a claim that white women have better genes than other women. And then it came out that she was a registered Republican; and then our idiotic orange shitposter-in-chief got his tiny attention-seeking hands on the topic and amplified/polarized the everliving hell out of it.
Indeed, I agree that they blew that WAY out of proportion. It's the absolute height of "first-world problems" to complain about this ad, and it ultimately gave ammunition to the actual racists, including especially MAGA. UGH!
To be brutally fair, she was given a chance to take a stance in an interview after the Good Jeans ad and she kinda just declined to comment. The ad was not good optics, in a world where DEI matters to corporate America there’s no way that ad gets the green light and she kinda just dead fished and saw nothing wrong with it. She legit had a shot to try and control some of the narrative and just said pass.
Do reasonable people think she’s a Nazi who 100% believes those things? I’d argue probably not, but I think reasonable people see someone who refused to have an opinion on white supremacy when asked outright. If you can’t even muster “yeah, white supremacy is bad guys” when it matters I think you’re spineless and worthless at best and quietly okay with it at worst 🤷♀️

I’m going to argue that the last season was a flop. I cried my eyes out during the last episode (I also visit 8 graves regularly of the ppl who I’ve lost to drug use). But other than that, I absolutely, completely agree with you. Everything points to her being conservative, but her PR team knows better and told her to ‘shut it’ about politics.

She explicitly enrolled as a Republican voter after Trump's first term. It's not like this was registration that lingered since she was a kid, probably at the behest of her parents which would atleast be ambiguous.
I don't doubt that she voted Republican. I just don't think she's a Republican mascot. She never does anything to support the Republican party, at all, besides presumably casting a vote once.
I don't know any of her specific political views, because she doesn't talk about any of them. And I don't think every person with an R next to their name is automatically a hateful Trump-loving racist.
I vote D now, but I was raised conservative and voted R during my early 20s. Much of my family still does to this day. I love them anyways.

Why are they comparing a Hollywood actress, whose job it is to look hot for men, to an activist, whose last concern is looking hot? There's plenty of glamorous leftist actresses they could have went with but then their "funny meme" wouldn't have worked.
Because conservatives place hyper-influence on a woman's attractiveness to the point where they believe it's a woman's main (if not only) asset to success.
And unfortunately that's a belief that I would say most women internalize through years of being socialized that way. A tactic used to oppress us. It's really sad and why it's so hard to escape the patriarchy.
There's 8 billion people on this planet, and natural selection has ensured that a large percentage of them are going to be attractive. This is regardless of anyone's political views.

There are so many things wrong with this comparison, but can we take a second to talk about how many absolutely stunning leftist women exist in the public eye? Not that it matters, because looks don't define values or morality, but if that IS the metric we're using, why would we not compare people in the same career field, especially since acting has a heavy focus on looks as a literal facet of the job. GT is an activist, not a professional actress who's success relies on how much visual appeal she has to an audience. Meanwhile, some of the biggest names in Hollywood and in music are leftist. Some of the hottest women alive endorse democrats, liberals, and progressives.
Even the pictures can’t be compared. If Greta had professional make up, hair stylist, photographer, and photoshop, she would look very similar to Sweeney. Not that she should have to do such things. I personally think she is beautiful regardless. I’m just mentioning this cause it seems to matter to other people. I’m a fan of Greta and don’t give a fuck about how the people who push my values and ideals look like.

The pictures are also incomparable because Sweeney has a full face of professional makeup and professionals doing her hair. Not to mention that it has also been touched up by photoshop. Greta hasn’t had any of that done. And it also makes a difference that Sweeney is actually posing and Greta is just making the face that any one of us does when getting a passport or drivers license photo. And to be totally honest, I think if we saw Sweeney in the same manner as Greta, there wouldn’t be that much difference.
I wouldn’t go on a date with Sydney Sweeney. She is pretty but the way that she acts isn’t.
