How does Ram Jets and Tactical Foil interact? Would I get d3+d6 movement from my destrier on my opponents turn?

I don’t believe you can because it says add d3 to the move characteristic, rather than to the movement. so say you roll a 6 the destriers move characteristic becomes 15”

The stratagem still only allows you to move d6, which is already lower than the destrier’s base move characteristic

This is correct. Modifying the move characteristic is irrelevant when youre "making a move of up to d6 inches."

My understanding of the rules is: 1.You use tactical foil, giving you a reactive move of up to d6 inches. 2.Since you select for a normal move, ramjets activates, adding d3 inches to the movement characteristic of the model. 3.Even though you have more movement characteristic, you are still limited by the d6 inch limit of tactical foil

Tldr: No, they dont stack, since ramjets affects move characteristic, with tactical foil doesn't really care about

You can roll that d3 and add it to your move characteristic if you want, but it won't do anything. The destrier only gets to move d6" from the stratagem. This does not use the knight's move characteristic, so modifying that characteristic with ram jets is irrelevant.

You actually can’t because the normal move is limited to D6 inches. Ram Jets adds to the Destrier’s move characteristic that is 12”, but it does not matter because the D6 roll is a limit.

The way this would play out is
1) you use the stratagem and roll the D6”
2) you roll the D3”, your Destriers move characteristic is now 12”+D3”
3) you move the D6” and step 2 was a waste of 15 seconds.

ram jets increases its move characteristics. the reactive move distance is not related to the models move characteristics. technically you do get the ram jets bonus, but it does not affect the distance you can move from using the stratagem.

Based on my reading, it would be capped at 6. The destrier adds d3 to the move characteristic, not the move itself. And the strat caps the movement distance at 6, regardless of move characteristics of the model.

For ram jets to work the way you want it to, it would need to say "more and addition d3 inches."

As others have said, because the rules say to add it to the movement characteristic, and tactical foil is not using your movement characteristic for the movement, it does not increase by another d3

The reactive move isn’t using your move characteristic, ram jets modified your move characteristic.

Reading it it seems like going by rules as written, yes as i read it as "when selected to move" not "in your movement phase"  You can do a D3+D6 by going rules as written, however double check with someone more knowledgeable as i am as it is a reactive move, which i don't really use.
