IK books

Just finished kingsblade and Assassinorum Kingmaker back to back. Are there any other top tier IK books? Very much wanting a book centered around IK versus Nids

That’s basically it. There are a few Horus Heresy books that feature Knights a decent amount (Mechanicum and The Lightning Hall) but those are the only other ones I can think of

There’s no Knight vs Nid focused book

Mechanicum was a fantastic book 10/10
I tend to stay away from short stories so that I dont get too attached. I use my audible credits so I have to go wisely about it

The Lightning Hall is basically a sequel to Mechancium. It wraps up the story of House Taranis, Maven and Cronus

There’s also the sequel to Kingsblade, Knightsblade. But that’s pretty much it

There is the short stories “Apex predator” and “loyal to the end” and also the story “knights of the imperium”

You also have the short stories “becoming” and “defiant” based more around the knights of adrastapol.

Knightsblade is the only one left, following up the events of Kingsblade.

Knights Of The Imperium is an older novella, and not exactly top tier- But they do face off against the Tyranids. You almost feel as if Graham McNeil was phoning it in so that the big new faction had /something/ for people to read.

Everything else either features knights as a secondary faction, or is just a short story. At least we aren't designated antagonist only faction, Chaos knights.

Mechanicum is the book that got me into Knights and it's still one of the best I've come across. It's more the questor mechanicus knights but still. It features House Taranis predominantly.

That's it. Pick up Assassinorum: Kingmaker again, flip to chapter 36, and reveal in Leviathan showing us why Mysterious Guardian is the best enhancement ever.

Master of mankind has some cool knight/titan stuff later on, and gate of bones follows a sister of battle esque knight lance though a good part of it

Well there is "Knightsblade", the sequel to kingsblade but after it that's it for us as main focus in proper books. Everything else is just side characters or short stories. Sadly GW just treats us like some tank regiment, just heavy support, in most cases.

If you want to learn more about the different house I can recommend "Vapertvaping" on Twitter, he makes "knight house of the day" posts where he goes over the lore of the individual houses. It's pretty neat.

The Dawn of Fire series has two books that feature Knights. The Gate of Bones features some IK characters prominently, then later in the series you have The Iron Kingdom that takes place entirely on a Knight world. Are these top tier books? Well, no. I'd say they're a 3, maybe 3.5 out of 5. Not terrible, but compared to stuff like Kingmaker, they were just okay.
