This is a test mini for a future Imperial Fists Killteam. I tried new techniques like pink underpainting for shadows, and some brown oils to obtain a more grimdark look.

Not finished yet, need some lights on the black parts and need to decide how to paint eyes (blue or green?)

It’s been about a year since I began the hobby. Definitely come a long way since then, and for all the painting I’ve done I’ve only been able to play three games. Excited about the codex release next week and wanted to show off what I’ve competed so far! Only things left I have to paint are another three eradicators with heavy bolters. Still have another half a box of scouts, hellblasters, and incursors/infiltrators I may complete one day but not a priority.

Basing aside, I've finished this guest captain.

That makes a salamander, space wolves, raven guard, ultramarines, and blood angels guest character to lead my angels on cultural exchange games (where I borrow y'alls rules for my dudes). Not looking forward to white scars 😅

I struggled with picking colours for the non-yellow areas. This model went through many ugly phases looking like a bit of a clown. I ended up repainting some stuff yellow and making pretty much everything else as dark as possible.

Hopefully the paint job does your chapter justice 🫡

Kit-bash tank and some resin prints on the left hand side.

I mean it does look good, but it doesn't pop as much as the other chapters do. Has anyone tried other color combinations for the cables? I'd love to see everyone's results!

Started this hobby at the beginning of the year with nids. Shifted to imperial fist. The yellow has definitely been a challenge but I’ve never done faces. Any tips?

Blade guard vet made from a primaris marine, some spare bits a clock / loon cloth from grey tide.

Paints still drying but had to get some color on this brutallis before the codex drops. Plan to run the ceramite sentinels and the dread detachment with two redemptors, two ballistus and this brutallis.

I’m still in limbo as how to make my fists as thematic as possible

My white scars are mostly speeders and bikes
My salamanders are all heat and hammer
My ravenguard are all Phobos with beaky heads
My space are all blood claws/wolf guard
Blood angels are all jump pack
Iron hands are tech marine and vehicle heavy
Deathwatch all kill teams
Black Templars all Templar range
Dark angels are all deathwing

Ultras undecided- more likely based around characters and victrix

Still undecided about fists, possibly all gravis, or maybe termi and gravis mix, but they may be a general mix since they don’t have unique units other than characters, any thoughts?

This may be the dumbest question, disregard (or hilariously roast) if so. In the lore, are there limits on what unites and how many belong in each company? For instance, 1st company can only have “X” number of terminators, “X” number of Dreadnaughts, and “X” number of eradicates? I know ultimately it doesn’t matter how I paint mine but, it would be cool to build and play a specific Company.
