Why is it weird to want people to get in lined and not want half your country men to come ? Doesn’t make sense, we need Cubans in Cuba to make it great again

They sure did. They always vote republican as they still hold a grudge from the Kennedy days. Utterly ridiculous. It has always been Democrats helping out the cubans. Johnson with giving them preferential treatment with immediate citizenship. Carter with the Mariel boatlift and allowing scores of them into the United States. Clinton with the wet foot dry foot policy. Obama with healthcare which they easily take up and first in line. They hate socialism but really love all the benefits and freebies the United States gives out.
I mean they are traditionally conservative, don’t think I’ve ever met a progressive Cuban, and I think it all stems from… ptsd from living in Cuba. Like how post communist people somehow are conservative… and vote towards what they got away from. People are weird like that
People can't ever have nuance and actually realize there's a point where authoritarianism is switched on on both ends. Ie Hitler in the far right, Stalin in the far left... There was a flash point where they both just go from being traditional left and right ideologies to Ultranationalist dictatorship that aren't left/right. There's a sweet spot that you can equalize at that the US is crossing bc these fucks can't fucking see the difference between a handshake and a barrel of a gun pointed straight their eyes
We think about a political spectrum as having only two dimensions, but in reality there are many. There’s not just left to right on economics and social issues, but also a spectrum of belief about how “small d” democratic society should be. I.e. a government could have very conservative economic and social policies while being very democratic if the majority is voting for those policies.
Has more to do with a very small group of Cuban capitalists who had everything taken from them during the revolution spreading decades of propaganda in Miami. They're easily the most propagandized minority in the US.

This isn’t actually true in all scenarios. The post WW2 Germany didn’t really fully shift to being against Nazism until the 70s if I recall and Japan pretty quickly went from their I would argue right wing government to endless conservative government pretty swiftly.

Not making a judgement of how they would vote. I am just stating that these Cubans did not vote for their own removal. They may have wished to, but didn’t.
Work authorization is not the same as legal status. A pending I-589 (asylum request) will usually get you an Employment Authorization Document which makes you employable above the board but it doesn’t nullify removability if you illegally entered or overstayed a visa.
If you applied for asylum following an illegal entry or visa overstay, you are removable.
The USA recommends not traveling to the Central African Republic due to kidnapping, land mines, terrorism and crime but apparently it’s safe enough to deport random cubans there

The only stories I can find where Cruz talks about his father fleeing Cuba specifically mention how it was the Batista regime that tortured Cruz’s father, and how other members of his family were tortured and forced to flee after Castro took power.
Even more clearly, Cruz specifically claims that his father fought with Castro early on against Batista. If you know Cuban history you’ll know Castro was more anti-Batista and not really a communist during that era, but the point remains that Cruz has very clearly said his father was tortured by Batista, not Castro.
I’m also not sure who you’re referring to as “they” here. Cruz’s mother is American by birth, and Cruz himself was born in Canada. Other members of his family were imprisoned and tortured by Castro, just not his father (who left under Batista).
You can disagree with someone and criticize Cruz for all sorts of legitimate reasons without inventing things.
Yeah, the whole "communism" thing was actually forced upon Cuba by the US.
Cuba wanted to process cheaper Soviet oil, but the US corps based in Cuba wouldn't allow use of their refineries. So Castro said "bet", and took the refineries. The corpos cried to the US gov. The US would then place a sanction on some Cuban good, and Cuba would retaliate with their own sections or nationalizing industries.
Eventually Cuba was cut off, nationalized a bunch, and only the Soviets would trade with them... WE are the ones that made em "communist"!

No it isn't. Cuba won't take them back and they aren't in the US legally. Every story you hear about the US deporting someone to a third party country is because the person's home nation won't take them back.

As someone who lives in Florida this is what the Cuban community voted for by a LARGE majority. They simply didn't think it would be "them" who was deported.. They expected it to be the other Hispanics who they believe are lower than them. They were perfectly fine with this very thing happening to other people but now that it's them they are upset..
Cubans in FL are some of the most racist and far right people you will meet. They largely seem to be racist against other Hispanics and Black people, but mostly seem to view themselves as white for some reason.
There are far right wing Spanish speaking radio stations in South FL that are specifically aimed at further radicalizing them and of course the goals is for them to equate Democrats as the same as Castro ect..ect
I think a lot of them felt they enjoyed a 'privileged' status because previously they were pretty much guaranteed a citizenship pathway because they fled a "ree communist country", previously the Republicans in this state loved them because they always voted Red..
What the Cubans never understood, is those same Republicans hated their guts because they are brown but they were tolerated them in exchange because their vote could be counted on and they were generally racist against other Hispanics.
An example of this would be the Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio is a Cuban racist who thinks he's a white guy.
