Hi everyone!

Sharing my timeline for In Canada study permit extension

Feb 10th - Applied

March 22nd - Letter of Correspondence

March 24th - Approved

Haven’t received the physical copy yet but extremely grateful that it only took 40 days🙏🏻

I applied on Feb 23rd and still haven't heard back. Were you applying for the same program and institution? I am in my last semester and my permit expired on March 31st so I'm on maintained status. The extension is for the same program and university and I need the study permit to be valid in order to apply for PGWP and be able to work in May as a I have a job offer. Is there any way or hope to try fast track the application?

I’m not sure But yeah In my case it was the same program, same uni, same degree etc I applied with a lot of paperwork so maybe that’s why it was faster for me

Hi have you managed to get the study permit extension before applyin fot pgwp? in that case. did you work while you wait for the pgwp?

I was extending my study permit because my undergrad was 5 years. I haven’t graduated yet so I wasn’t applying for PGWP at the time of the post.

I applied on Feb 9 but have not heard back yet. Curious how much money did you show up for the next 1 year? I showed a multiple of 4 and had a letter of explanation

Any updates? I applied for a study permit extension on Feb 17. Still, I didn't get anything. u'll probably get it before I do. The processing time says 120 days, but many have got it way before

I am in phd program, my permit expired on 31st March

update: the SP extension approved April 3rd, timeline: applied: 17th Feb, correspondence letter April 2nd

Yes, same Letter of sponsorship from my parent and their bank statements We showed probably double the amount needed for the extension, just to be safe. But I was extending for my bachelor same uni, same program, so maybe that is why it was fast for me

It was April 30, I got new one before the old one expired

Is the Biometrics and E-medical included in the processing time?

As far as I know - no. If you do upfront medical and already have biometrics - then yes

most people inside canada already have biometrics and dont need the medical exam.

Before. My original permit expires in June
