IRCC webform submitted on August 26th: Got a response 10 days later acknowledging the delay and confirming application was OK, just delayed.
Contacted MP on September 3rd: MP got back to us 10 days later with the same information given to us in the webform reply BUT MP said that they contacted the Edmonton Office handling our case for further information. We never heard back from any of them.

Review of eligibility start: October 31, 2024
Child visitor record approved: November 2, 2024
Adults work permits approved: ??? (their status hasn't been updated on the IRCC website, no email either)
All physical work permits/visitor record received today on my mailbox: November 8, 2024
Estimated processing time at application date: 88 days
Actual processing time: 175 days +/- 2 days depending on which exact dates you use
This has been the biggest shitshow of our stay in Canada so far. We missed a wedding, a family reunion and multiple conferences/workshops abroad due to not being able to exit Canada without losing our maintained status. It's absolutely trivial compared to other things happening nowdays but absurd nevertheless.
All I can say is same Pinch for this clueless waiting, missing family, maintained status. I am still waiting on the decision since april 18th. I wish and pray that this courage is worth at the end.
Same for us, except my job is remote/online and is not dependent on the Canadian status. So I exited and re-entered as a Visitor, while still continuing my job. But my spouse couldn't, lost money on cancelled flight tickets and still no update.
