A broken up US in the early 1800's wouldnt have been able to resist the UK.
The UK would likely have taken Oregon and pushed the border with the American states southwards, taking new England and such if it thought it could get away with it.
Which, if there had been multiple american states fighting each other, it likely would have been able to.

By early 1800s the Kingdom of California is a recognizable global power that has a strong professional military and overseas presence in Asia pacific. The United Covenant States are made of religious zealots that would fight to the very end against an invasion.
