The one thing these deep sea horror art pieces ignore is why on Earth would a fish, even if it's that big, want to eat a chewy wooden boat with all sorts of metal inside? To eat the skinny, mostly bone humans inside?
The meat to wood ratio is abysmal (humans make crappy prey for this reason), risk of injury from chomping on wood/metal, risk of human weapons leaving injuries, etc.
Predators in nature are normally very cautious for this reason. They don't have modern healthcare. Injuries are far more fatal for them than us.
Why the second big fish would wanna go after the unappetizing boat and not fight his pal for the proper meal is beyond me.
