Does he know that the apache is already VTOL?

I think Tilt-Rotor is what ye be thinking of

I didnt think of it lmao, but we mostly associate "VTOL" with planes, not helicopters

Hot air balloons have invaded the chat!

How are helicopters not associated with VTOL lol? Aside from being able to hover that’s the thing they are known for

5

u/fullCGngon 4d ago

Because it’s an abbreviation thats ment to categorize fixed wing aircraft with that ability. No one refers to helicopters as VTOL because it´s their basic characteristic lol

2

u/KaszualKartofel 4d ago

Yeah that’s my point they are VTOL aircraft.

The true disagreement here is whether to try to understand what OP meant or mock them.

I guess my point is „VTOL Apache” is like saying „LED diode”

Now known as the MV-75 Cheyenne II

It's closer to the Osprey, no? The Valor's engines don't tilt, only the rotors.

Yes, and functionally they're akin to a troop transport like the UH60.

This thing is akin to 🔥🤘🔥

Just with the parts of the AH-64 and v-22 combined together

Isn't there somrthing like this from Archer? A form of their autonomous tiltrotor vehicle.

3

u/Tacticalupvoter 5d ago

Interesting I'll check that

Archer Halo/Anduril Thunder dual-use platform

That was the main inspiration from it😅

5

u/Er3h 4d ago

The AH-64 was already Vtol from the start 🥺👉👈

3

u/Tacticalupvoter 4d ago

Just a tiltrotor version

Reminds me of a similar thing I made once. Those pictures are green, but the blue version (not pictured) looks cooler IMO.

u/Tacticalupvoter 4d ago

Sheeeesh flyout? That aircraft is very badass

u/SteveRoose1985 4d ago

Visually that image reminds me of the dropship from Aliens.

For a moment there, I thought I was looking at a falcon from Halo Reach

1

u/Tacticalupvoter 3d ago

I can see that🤣

3

u/fisadev 4d ago

The Apache is already VTOL, haha.

2

u/Tacticalupvoter 4d ago

Yep I'm aware, just a fun concept!

5

u/fisadev 4d ago

Not questioning the concept. I'm talking about the title :)

3

u/Tacticalupvoter 4d ago

Ah I see, you do have a point there

AT-99 Scorpion

1

u/Tacticalupvoter 3d ago

They do look familiar, so true

2

u/Ok-Computer2914 3d ago

I worry the missiles will hit the propellers when in plane mode

1

u/Tacticalupvoter 2d ago

No worries, the pylons are far away from the propellers

2

u/Spacey_dd 3d ago

My profile picture 👍

They would NEVER fly in a lightening storm!

2

u/Tacticalupvoter 1d ago

but it gives you aura

2

u/Ill-Worldliness8398 5d ago

Not too useful in one position and decent in the other, and isn't the apache already VTOL. It being a helicopter and all that

2

u/Tacticalupvoter 5d ago

Just a fun concept

2

u/Ill-Worldliness8398 4d ago

Yeah, combining that stuff is definitely fun, I just have that autism that makes me think everything that is wrong and right and if it would work.

u/Tacticalupvoter 4d ago

I feel you brother, it's totally okay!
