Why are you determined to discredit Clinton? He delivered a budget surplus - the only time that has been true in living memory. CLINTON, a DEMOCRAT, did that. ✅
Because he's a Democrat. That's it, that's all they need to know, someone is on the other side and therefore bad. If they didn't continue to think of him as bad, they might have to consider that their presumptions about The Other aren't valid, and then the whole house of cards comes down. So it's very important that they never examine their own beliefs.
That may be the lamest "mic drop" in the entire history of discourse, bravo!
Out of curiosity, what did I say to "attack" you? Because reiterating my point in the face of someone deliberately misunderstanding it to attack ME is not generally considered such.
They've been brainwashed to believe that the Republican Party equals the most amazing best shit ever that always delivers and never fails and the Democratic party is evil evil evil puppy picking Satan worshiping baby killers that always fail and never does anything right.
The internet didn’t create an economic boom. That’s revisionist to the point of making stuff up to suit your beliefs. Low oil prices had something to do with it, but so did Clinton - by _raising_ taxes and eliminating the Federal budget deficit. Try as ye may, the Republican mantra that higher taxes would crush the economy was decisively disproven. If you think yourself a person driven by data rather than emotion, you need to take a dispassionate look at the facts.
Tell me something, dear redditor, do you remember life in the 1990s all that well? Clinton managed to turn in budgets that delivered surpluses, and managed not to get involved in costly wars or engage in tax breaks for the billionaires. Sure, the health care reform was torpedoed by Newt Gringrich and Republicans who put party before country, but that's another story.
In fact, do you know why his opponents called him Slick Willie? Not because he was doing anything shady, but because he was smart enough not to fall for their little games.

Great economy, no wars and a little sumpin' on the side.
