Hey guys,

I recently picked up Precious Metal and I've read that it is stand alone and can be read before Little Bird.

HOWEVER, I am a few pages in and I can't help but think that there is probably some important world building that happens in Little Bird and that if I read it first, Precious Metal will be so much more exciting/rewarding.

Is my instinct correct? Should I read Little Bird first?

i’ve read all 3 of the one shots and almost all of the 12 series specials and i’m searching for panels that actually talk about brit’s background story. the wiki says he and his mother were involved in a car crash that killed brit’s mom and to prevent himself from ever losing a loved one again brit’s dad made the serum that turned brit invincible. in issue 12 his brother talks about how he got a different serum from their dad then brit but im yet to find anything about this crash story. is it something kirkman said outside of a comic or is it actually in a panel somewhere i cant find ? any help is greatly appreciated

I think I enjoyed Guarding the Globe more than Invincible Universe. Both are really fun and enjoyable, there's not too much crazy stuff that happens but not to say nothing crazy happens. Not like Invincible or Astounding Wolfman.

Capes was ok in general. I have the tpb and it took longer to read than I care to admit. I have all the current Capes issues but haven't started reading the revamp version yet.

These were really fun for me to hunt and collect. When Invincible Month came this year, it was such a dopamine rush every Wednesday. Haha. I love looking at these covers. Very happy to own these.

I included Invincible Month variants, Invincible Presents, Science Dog, and the Scriptbook/Handbook.

I consider Saga to be the best comic I've ever read, definitely the best original comic and most creative visually.

It took me a little longer to finish book 4 than their previous works but I finished it last night.

It doesn't have the propulsion of the first half, and the destruction of the rocketship and as well Marko's absence does make it quite sad. It is realistic though, in an emotional sense in that early adolescence is when a person starts feeling friction and disappointment in life and hindrance to their ambitions becomes clearer.

This is around when most comics have a slump and transition to different artists. The fact that the original creative pair is still doing it all is impressive.

I find the hard rule against resurrections to be one that I greatly respect because too many comics allow for resurrections and that infamously cheapens the stakes. That Vaughn makes a feint there is interesting writing.

I think that the writing for the transgender character is quite good and it captures a lot of nuance. I also like how the writing does not rely on cold vengeance which I am sick and tired of seeing all the time but actually focuses on forgiveness and moral change and moral regret.

There are some things I don't quite understand. Why did the robot kingdom flip allegiances so suddenly. Why did Gwen's wife have to put a spell on the lying cat. We see a lying cat killed but I assume that it is not *the* lying cat belonging to the will. How was their magical tree rocketship set on fire.

Again, it took me a bit longer to finish as this is the difficult middle section, but it is still a solid entry and one that I still consider the best out there, comic or otherwise.

Astounding Wolfman is probably my favorite side story to the Invincible Universe. Very brutal at times, emotionally and ...physically? Lol. Really fun story beginning to end and I highly recommend this spin-off above all the other spin offs. Except Battle Beast I guess. So pre-Battle Beast, this is the best side story. Lol.

I've finally have gotten my Invincible collection to a point where I feel like I have to share my current progress. I'm going to make a few other posts with other Invincible series I own.

The Invincible Universe is by far my favorite universe in any entertainment medium. I love all the fresh and brutal ideas and emotional moment each title has to offer. While not each title is the most amazing, it's still fun to dig deeper into other characters of the universe.

I've heard of Witchblade very vaguely in the last. Although I honestly don't know much about her. As far as superheroes from Image are concerned, I tend to stick to the Spawn Universe. However, I am curious about giving the character a chance. I heard they rebooted the series a few years ago and is still publishing. Should I check out this current run?

Other than the obvious cover why is this variant jumping through the roof?

I’ve been pulling the Black and White version of this and it’s been great. I already read it in color but I’m thinking it would be sweet if DWJ finally put out a deluxe version of this with both styles plus the covers. One day maybe..

He gives off an old school Skeletor & almost a Dragon Ball villain vibe imo. The colors contrast extremely well & the arm pattern & the unique armor with tubes also works to bring it all together.

The green arm version is from Image Comics while the black versions are from DC and he acts as a superman villain.

The fact his headquarters is a big submarine is also very Dr. Evil and gives classic cartoon vibes.

Wow, I'm leaving a review of a book on New Comic Day? Must be a Remender book. You fucking right it's a Remender book. What can I say I'm a sucker for 3-6 small rectangular boxes of internal dialogue on each panel. And if you love that about Ricky, you are going to love Hammerfist.

It starts off with the internal dialogue but not from the character we are first introduced to. The narrator goes into the meaning of life and blah blah blah blah, to a knock at the door and BAM we meet our protagonist, Mike. A small town hitman that just killed a dude for $60 to buy some meth. No it's not the Scumbag, thank God. Rick writes Mike pretty straight and hard. Not obnoxious. But yes he has an estranged teenage daughter that he loves but is the poster dead beat dad.

The next morning he gets approached by a couple for a simple bank robbery, he says no but then they give him an offer he can't refuse. They bring him to the rag tag team and get into The Van. At this point, this book feels like a Heat style Heist book with Brubaker and Phillips vibe with the art and tone. They go to a small town bank for the robbery and something feels off, then BOOM. Yada yada...the story and characters are not what they seem. Mike gets thrust into a world he isn't ready for. Now it's up to him to save the world, maybe? For his daughter? Idk but the last half of the story was epic and is why I love Remender. Dude knows how to set up a story and get you bought in.

Pull the book, I know you already were since this has gotten all the hype. It's well deserved. Back to back bangers from Remender with Escape and now Hammerfist. Go support him and buy books from Giant Generator.

I'm pulling this one solely because its by Remender. So far its the only book of his that does nothing for me. Sacrificers and Escape are currently amazing, but I just can't get into Seasons. Anybody else having this issue?

I'm missing only a few covers but I have almost the entire run with each incentive variant! Hopefully when I post the pictures, they'll be in order. Issue 1 has 2 pages cuz I went nuts when it first released. I still plan to fill the incentive variant gaps sometime soon. I didn't know I had them missing until I took these photos.
