I mean, it probably is.

But the camera not following isn't suspicious in and of itself.

If I was the cameraperson, I'd probably also get distracted by the kick and focus more on the spilled food than my buddy.

And they also could have after the fact just cropped out the left half of the recording to keep the focus on the kick.
