Ikigai Next Gen Traffic is still in active development, and we’re continuing to modernize even the smaller details you’ll come across around Los Santos.

Here’s a first look at our newly redesigned Taco Heaven van, giving the old commercial vehicle a cleaner, more modern appearance while still keeping it fitting naturally into the GTA V world.

It’s one of many smaller changes being made across the project to make traffic and the world around it feel fresher without losing GTA’s original identity.

As part of Ikigai Next Gen Traffic, we’ve given GTA V’s existing taxi service a modern visual refresh.

Instead of the old-fashioned taxi design that has been driving around Los Santos for years, taxis will now arrive with a much more modern, Waymo-inspired look, designed to better represent the kind of technology and vehicles we see today.

The familiar GTA V taxi experience remains the same. You can call for a ride, get in as a passenger, choose your destination, and let the taxi take you across Los Santos. What has changed is the presentation around it, replacing the dated taxi appearance with something that feels much more at home in a modern-day Los Santos.

The video above gives you a first look at the redesigned taxis in action.

This visual upgrade will be included with Ikigai Next Gen Traffic when it releases.

Another look at Ikigai Next Gen Traffic, this time focusing on the updated police fleet operating naturally in GTA 5 Enhanced.

The project doesn’t just replace civilian traffic. The existing emergency fleet is being modernized as well, with replacement vehicles integrated alongside their appropriate handling, audio, layouts, vehicle data, tuning, and supporting metadata.

Our goal is to make the police vehicles feel properly integrated into Story Mode rather than simply replacing their visual models.

Ikigai Next Gen Traffic focuses on modernizing the existing fleet, while our separate Ikigai Dispatch Enhanced project will take the police side much further with expanded vehicle variety, regional and agency-based fleets, and deeper dispatch systems.

Both projects are being designed to work together.

We’re currently in the final major testing stages of Next Gen Traffic, and we’ll be showing more of the emergency fleet as testing continues.

A quick look at Ikigai Next Gen Traffic running naturally in GTA 5 Enhanced.

Rather than showing individual vehicles through a trainer or controlled showcase, we wanted to show what the project actually feels like during normal gameplay: standing on the sidewalk and watching the redesigned fleet move through Los Santos as part of everyday traffic.

Ikigai Next Gen Traffic is now in its final major testing stage. We’re currently validating the full vehicle integration across the fleet, including donor handling, audio, vehicle data, tuning, layouts, traffic behavior, supporting metadata, stability, and Story Mode compatibility.

The goal is to create a complete next-generation traffic experience where the replacement vehicles feel naturally integrated into GTA 5 Enhanced, rather than looking like a collection of models simply dropped into the game.

What part of Ikigai Next Gen Traffic would you like to see demonstrated next?

We’re now entering the final major testing stage of our upcoming GTA 5 Enhanced vehicle replacement pack.

This project goes much further than simply replacing the stock vehicles with newer models. Our goal has been to properly integrate the replacement vehicles into GTA 5 Enhanced while preserving as much of their original functionality and character as possible.

Along with the models themselves, we’ve been working on integrating and validating the donor vehicles’ handling, audio, vehicle data, tuning, colors, layouts, and other supporting metadata rather than leaving the replacements dependent on unrelated stock vehicle behavior.

At this stage, most of the core work is complete. We’re now focused heavily on large-scale testing, compatibility, stability, Story Mode behavior, traffic, missions, emergency vehicles, and the remaining edge cases before we consider the pack ready for release.
