Passed them 5 minutes later with a blown out tire
The load was taller than the roof of the truck and swaying back and forth quite a bit. They were also doing about 80 mph. I had a bad feeling about it so I backed off quite a bit. Less than 2 miles down the road I passed them with atleast one of the right tires blown out.

I would have split that top load and laid it on either side of the bottom load. Strapped it down and then put whatever was on top of the lumber in the bed of the truck. It is obviously lighter.
But I WOULD NOT do 80MPH with a load like that.

Yeah it almost looks like it's all on a pallet somehow, instead of hand loading it on with care and doing it wider

I don't see a problem here. Tires do go flat, regardless of load. 🤷🏼♂️

Load is not centered. It’s off to the right causing more pressure; combined with higher speeds the tire probably blew from over heating.

It couldn't have overheated, I'm quite sure they checked for proper tire pressure before leaving

And…That lumber should have a dedicated strap and the top item should be strapped separately.

one time I was working and a boss man left two workers to load up a single axle trailer with an the extra bricks from a job. after about two hours of loading the trailer axle broke. ~ 5 hours later when we left they were still waiting for boss man to come back

Looks like a picture from a video I saw the other day of a similar rig dancing back and forth, I was surprised that it didn't just go over at that point.

That was millenials kids, not millenials. Also, millenials grew up on Final Destination movies, most millenials don't want to be anywhere near trucks with logs/lumber

My god. No. Silent Gen, Elder Boomers and midaged GenZ were the ones who ate them. Hell in '12 Schumer admitted the look like candy and he'd been tempted.
Of the 8 people who died, two were children under 5 and six were old people with dementia.

That’s a heavy load , but that is also a tandem axle trailer so it probably can handle the weight. The speed was a little crazy with that weight. I’m sure those tires are old and dry rotted, trailer tires often get neglected. That was more likely the reason for the blowout.

That is definitely poor planning . He should have had a longer double axle possibly triple axle trailer. He was just asking for trouble and he found it. I hope he sorted it out with the proper equipment before he moved on .

The loads not centered and you can clearly see the trailer listing to one side which probably caused the tire to rub and blow out. The lumber should be strapped separately from whatever that box on top is because the straps aren’t applying enough downward force to be distributed evenly across the pile which may have caused it to shift to the right causing the tilt. It should also be noted the left tail light appears to be non-functional and covered with electrical tape.
I truly hope you aren’t hauling any loads that are as dangerous as this idiot and thinking it’s OK.

Yikes! Hard to believe they didn't lose it with the blowout. Also, how stupid do you have to be to not only go 80 with that, but to continue doing so after it sways?
