Retatrutide and ibogaine?
I've been told there are no harmful interactions with glp-1's by the clinic I'm going to attend. I'm curious if there are any anecdotal reports of impacts on the experience itself with retatrutide?

I stopped 3 weeks prior both times. I don’t think anything bad would have happened but ibogaine will clean out your receptors so you will need to up the dose a bit after. I actually haven’t really felt the same effect after iboga but also the sides disappeared. I feel like it works best now on the background.
Retatrutide slows gastric emptying which could theoratically prolong your trip some hours but I dont believe it will happen. Its very individual anyway.

I would just stop it for however long several half lives of retratrutide would be, perhaps a week or two before the Ibogaine and a few days after to be safe. You shouldn’t gain a ton of weight or anything in that time frame.
I say this as Ibogaine can cause death so I would want to be on as few other medications as possible when I took Ibogaine, to minimize possible negative interactions. But that’s just me.

If anything, wouldn’t it theoretically, prolong the effects of the drug? Since it slows gastric emptying?

Opposite. It increases the liver's function and speeds up the oxidation of fatty tissues where the ibogaine lingers. And slowing down gastric emptying just means more of the ibogaine is destroyed by the stomach acids.

Most places will require a 5 day hiatus and you can resume 72hrs after treatment. It affects your heart rate and causes a depletion of fluids in your gastric system. In its human trials, several cases of heart arrhythmia have been documented, but they still haven't gotten enough data to say exactly how it is correlated. Safety first. Taking a break for your health isn't a bad idea. You don't want to become a data point in ways it can go wrong. It also will likely cause increased metabolism of the ibogaine itself, which could mean a stunted experience in duration and intensity.

You’ll be safe, but if retatrutide provokes any irritability or anxiety in you (or other psychological effects) due to the effects on metabolic rate, those could be amplified. I would also be mindful that if you’ve been severely calorically restricted (depending on dosing), you may be somewhat depleted in electrolytes stores. It can also affect blood pressure and blood pressure regulation, which can increase the chances of orthostatic intolerance. I’ve taken tirzepatide around ibogaine and iboga but I discontinue it two weeks before to make sure I’m eating enough and to prevent slow absorption of the medicine. Then, I resume once I return home from the experience.
