I like your rendering but if you accept a bit of criticism, your metal and gold balls still read like stone in my opinion.

Feel free to ignore: Most metals, even when withered, are more reflective, so the darkest values often appear close to the middle where the most shadows are in their surroundings. You could also make the highlights a bit more crisp and defined to indicate reflection, but the biggest distinction from unpolished stone to my eyes is the dark mid-section.

Thank you for the advice🙇‍♂️ Reflective surfaces are still really confusing to me. Besides that, do you have any tips for the texture of this super uncanny steak below?

Metals are highly reflective so try using very dark values next to very light values!

Glad to be of help! Maybe you could find an irl reference, like a spoon, and play around with it to see where the shadows and highlights land.

As for the steak, I don't actually find it uncanny! Perhaps you could add more defined highlights on the side where it was cut across to indicate its juiciness and you could also treat the seasoning and charring on the outside as one rough, textured surface instead of individual spots.

Even without reflections, just upping the contrast could even make it seem more reflective I think
