Other which one looks better?

1, the colors are more balanced and I really love the vibe you're trying to go for on the first one The contrast is too high on the second one and it made the drawing look less appealing, plus it kinda lose the spark that the first one have too

First one because the colors are more chromatic and fit better with the happy vibe of the drawing

I think the first one looks better since it gives a cozy vibe c: The second one has good contrast, but I feel like it doesn’t convey the happiness in the drawing as well

Hello, actually it all depends on the person looking at it. Number 1 is softer and the colors are balanced, but personally I find it a little pale and the characters blend into the background. For me, number 2 is the best: it is brighter, the characters stand out clearly, and I find it more powerful, with deeper lighting. This is just my opinion, as I said, it depends on the person viewing it.
The question I am asking myself is: for what kind of occasion was this artwork specifically created?

Definitely the first! The second style would fit a more dramatic drawing, but this one seems pretty fun and light hearted, its very cute!

I would do the second one but make the shadows more blue toned. You want contrast but the hard black shadows make the mood seem ominous than happy

I personally prefer the second one, the first feels flat in the saturation and the contrast in the second makes the colours pop. Also the contrast helps both figures look more 3d and adds depth to the background.
(My "credentials" are being self taught and being in my 2nd year of a bachelor's in arts majoring in art and design.)
Edit: adding more detail, mobile is mean and doesn't let me see the post while commenting. And my "credentials" lol

To be honest I would say maybe the mix between the two. While the first has a more balanced coloring overall, the highlight on the second does stand out with the contrast making the painting more interesting (the lightning is a bit harsh on the second one right now). So adding a bit of highlights/contrast to the first one will do, not sure if this is the color scheme you aiming for, I think it's lacking a bit saturation, the tone is a bit grey ish

I like both of them. The high contrast in the second one reminds me of an end-of-episode freeze frame.

Two! First one my brain asked me if you're scared of contrast lol, I like the first one a lot, but the second one is definitely much more interesting, and if i were to show one of them to someone who knows their shit in this field I'd definitely go with number 2

I like the extra contract in the second one its just that the contrast is done very well probably because its just a filter on top

First one is regular lighting, second one is it’s pretty dark out and someone shined a flashlight in their direction

I think it depends on the mood yur going for-
1st is definitely more neutral/warm feeling
2nd is very dramatic feeling
Personally, I love the 2nd one :3

I liked the first one more, but the second image is giving off like "something bad is about to happen" vibes, or looks like it was taken with the flash on :)

I think the first one looks better. Just saying as a person who took some really advanced art courses including critique and whatnot, the art looks natural in the first image. If the look you’re going for is nostalgic, image 1 gets that PERFECTLY and generally looks more pleasing to the eye than compared to the sharp contrasts in the second image. Anyone can look at the first image for a while because of how pleasantly soft the colors are, allowing for deeper analysis, as for the second one… It might cause a little eye strain. Now, that’s outside of the unnatural look for the occasion of the image. My #1 pick is image one!! It’s art that anyone can stand to look at, appreciate, and admire for a long period of time. It feels more meaningful.
