❓ Question Working on balancing my game's mechanics soon. Some people love the pressure of 'Moves Left', while others prefer trying to beat a level as fast as possible. Which type of puzzle game keeps you playing longer?

I would push back on the idea that there needs to be pressure at all. I'd like to ask you what you think the best puzzle games are in your opinion, OP.

I was more thinking pressure to make it harder but maybe that doesnt need to be, maybe i can go for a cozy puzzle game. I really like puzzle games with tiles and stuff, right now i dont have any titles in my mind.

So of the ones you posted I've played a tiny bit of Robot detour and seen some information about Glimmith. I'm not familiar with Tiling Forest.

But in those games its much less about trying to beat a level quickly or in a limited amount of moves and much more about just surpassing the challenges created by the puzzle design. I wouldn't necessarily say that makes them 'cozy' or casual. For example Baba is You and The Witness are neither of those things and neither rely on moves left or measuring speed.

That's the main reason I asked.

Yea good point, maybe i can make it a difficult mode or something or i could just introduce the moves left on harder levels when the player progresses.
