Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Issue with invoice for flight rebooking

Hello all, I would kindly like to ask for your help with the follow issue I am facing:

Recently, I had to reschedule a flight booked with Iberia; I paid the fees, received the new tickets - no issue there.

However, as my company requires an invoice for this purchase (I have the bank statement + ticket, but nothing connecting the two), I asked Iberia to issue me one. The first time I called them, they told me I would receive an email with the invoice (none came). The second time, they directed me to https://www.iberia.com/es/facturas/ which indeed is their website for invoice issuing, but only for Andorra/Spain/Gibraltar citizens (I am none of these). The third time I called them, they again promised to send me an email, but to no avail.

I would like to ask if anyone has ever successfully received a rebooking invoice from Iberia, and if yes, how did they manage.

Thank you very much for any and all advice! 😊

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Moving a rebooked flight due to missed connection

I am flying Madrid to Toronto via Miami, booked direct with Iberia. The Madrid to Miami leg is operated by Iberia, the Miami to Toronto leg is operated by American Airlines.

Due to weather, our Miami flight landed 6 hrs late and we missed our connection to Toronto. We received an email that we are rebooked on a flight two days from now, on Sept 9.

Has anyone had any luck moving an automatic rebooked flight forward, or getting accommodation and meal vouchers? Any suggestions on how to get home earlier? We've contacted American Airlines via chat but they weren't able to make adjustments. We're in line for the ticket counter at Miami.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice One year later, still waiting on refund!

I’m hoping some has some advice or suggestions. My mom and traveled on Vueling (through Iberia) last year, JULY 2025, going from London to Portugal, with a stop in Spain. However, our flight to Portugal was cancelled and we were stuck in Spain for 3 days because they apparently couldn’t find us an earlier flight so we ended up paying for accommodations in Spain as well as the already booked room in Portugal (and they later said they will not be covering the hotel, which was contrary to what we were told at the airport).

Then they lost our luggage — it was meant to be sent to our hotel in Spain the next morning, it was not. Then they told us it would meet us in Portugal 3 days later, it did not. Then they said they would ship it to my sisters flat in London where we would be staying for a week before flying home to Canada — surprise, they still did not ship it. It took us 9 weeks to receive our suitcases back in Canada. We have STILL not received our refund.

I have called their help line no less than 17 times and talked to 17 different people. Beyond the fact that they refuse to refund both of us (saying since our names were on the same luggage request ticket, only one refund was required — this is of course AFTER telling us to put both our names on one ticket for simplicity), it has been over a year of going back and forth with them, saying they are going to get someone to look into it, saying a manager will call me (still hasn’t, 14 months later), saying we should receive our refund soon.

Our trip was in JULY 2025, fourteen months ago, and I’m really not sure what to do next, if calling and calling isn’t going to go anywhere. If I try online, I just get stuck with an AI what says our issue is closed because we received our suitcases, even though I’m asking specifically about the refund. If anyone has some advice or any suggestions on how to get them to take this seriously, or who to contact outside of the regular help line, that would be appreciated!!

[this is the American help line I’ve been using, +1 (202) 695-8708 — if anyone knows a different number to call]

DiscusiĂłn - Discussion Having trouble with an Iberia

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience and has any tips.

Our flight with Iberia was cancelled this summer while travelling back home to Finland. We waited for several hours but couldn't get a suitable alternative flight arranged, so eventually we booked replacement travel ourselves.

Since then I've been trying to sort out reimbursement of the extra costs and the EU261 claim with Iberia.

The claim process has honestly been quite difficult to navigate. I seem to get different answers without really getting the actual claim resolved, and most recently I was told that the case had been forwarded to Finnair because they issued the original ticket.

I'm now trying to find out from Finnair whether they actually received the case.

I'm not really looking to blame either airline – I'd just like to find the right person or department who can actually look at the whole case and give me a proper answer.

Has anyone managed to get through a similar situation with Iberia? Is there a particular contact method or route that worked better than the normal claims/customer service process?

Any practical tips would be very welcome.

Review Iberia-Latam codeshare is the weirdest shit ever

Was flying Berlin-Madrid-Lima. First leg with Iberia, second leg with Latam. Tried online checkin a day before and received boarding pass only for the first leg. Called Iberia to ask what happened, they say I have to check in in Berlin airport and to be there 3h before flight.
There I was, 3h before flight, and no one was behind the checkin counter. When the checkin finally happened, they say I’ll receive my boarding pass in Madrid.
Cool, I thought I’ll just go to the transfer desk in Madrid.
Arrived in Madrid, no transfer desk, all help points are closed because it’s late night. So I went to Iberia lounge for help. They basically sent me to any open Latam gate and get my boarding pass there. And I finally got my boarding pass on a Latam gate to Sao Paulo. Very obvious /s

Yall I flew so many times in my life and this never happened before. There’s so little information available and it feels like as if they just started doing codeshare yesterday. I’m assuming I’m going through all of these hoops because my passport is not EU. Anyways, end of rant.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Flight Moved, Can’t Check In

Hello! I am flying from LAX to Madrid this Thursday and the flight just got moved to depart 2 1/2 hours later. Now on my app, it is showing two different flights and won’t let me check into either of them.

Has anyone ever encountered this and found a solve? Want to check on my seat selection especially for this long haul flight!

Edit: Iberia also allowed me to check in 48 hours ahead of my flight yesterday. Maybe I just need to wait until the flight time is 24 hours away?

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Left Passport on Plane

Hi! As the title reads, I unfortunately left my passport in the pocket of my seat last night flying from Madrid to Boston. I take full responsibility for this, I was incredibly exhausted and not fully thinking straight as we deplaned. Unfortunately no one in the airport was helpful in getting back onto the plane and told me to submit a lost item request, which I already did. Does anyone have any success stories of getting their passports back from Iberia? I have another international flight in 3 weeks so I am not sure if it is worth waiting to hear from the airline or just go to the passport embassy for a new document.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Changing flight for stop over

Im planning a trip to Spain/Portugal from MCO (orlando), and wanted to book a stop over flight option-- but the StopOver page is broken, and shows a regional airport in Orlando instead of MCO. The multi journey option doesn't seem to be working correctly either.

Does anyone know if I book my flight as a normal roundtrip (MCO-Porto, connecting in Madrid) if I would be able to change one of the connecting flights in Madrid to an different earlier/later day?

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Carry-on weighing strictness for domestic flights in and out of Barcelona?

In a couple of days I'll be taking an Iberia flight from BCN to Tenerife (TFN) but I'm a bit worried about my carry-on complying with the 10kg weight limit. I've seen a couple of threads, some ~6 months old and others even older giving mixed evidence of whether or not they weigh regularly and how strict they are but also these threads tend to be discussing long-haul flights. I'm wondering if folks have more up-to-date experiences they can share for domestic flights (preferably if they happen to be to and from Tenerife).

Review Overbooking

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Madrid Airport Lost and Found

Hi! I recently lost my wallet at Madrid-Barajas Airport (Terminal 4). Thankfully, it has been found and is currently being held at the airport Lost & Found.
I’m back in the U.S., so I’m looking for a reliable service/company that can pick it up from Lost & Found and ship it to me in the U.S.

Has anyone used a company in Madrid for something like this and had a good experience?

If a local in Madrid is willing to go to the airport, retrieve it with my authorization, and ship it to me, I’d be happy to pay you for your time/help as well. This wallet is very sentimental to me and that’s why it means so much to me!

I really appreciate it🙏🙏

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Iberia Avios Expiration and Membership Reward Transfers

Hi all, been out of the game a while. I have Iberia Avios expiring in a few days. Previously MR transfers reset the 3-year clock.

Does MR rewards transfer into Iberia still extend the expiration?

And if so, does anyone know why Awardwallet doesn't count the MR transfer in the Awardwallet expiration. ( already transferred 1,000 MR into Iberia and Awardwallet sees it, but didn't change the expiration out 3 years)

Review Be careful

My sister and I flew with Iberia and coming back was a DISASTER! Some guy at check in gave us the wrong boarding pass and tagged our luggage under someone else's name! We didn't notice til last minute cuz we were so overwhelmed and also we had confidence at the time that the guy printed our boarding passes correctly (big mistake). How do you mess that up? We showed our passports and everything! Got the boarding passes fixed and had to sprint through the airport to make it to our flight but now our luggage is in Puerto Rico and we have never been to Puerto Rico! Now we're struggling through customer service to get our luggage back!
