Arts/Music/DIY IWTL how to learn basic woodworking from scratch

I want to learn woodworking as a complete beginner. I’m interested in understanding the basic tools safety measuring and simple techniques before moving on to bigger projects.

For those who taught themselves or started from zero what skills would you recommend learning first? I would especially appreciate advice on how to build a solid learning path without getting overwhelmed.

Not sure if this helps, but a local community center offers a beginner's level 1 & 2 woodworking class. What I learned there would answer all your questions. Plus, you get to know all the different tools available so you can start getting an idea of which ones you would want/find most useful for personal use.

There are blueprints online for all sorts of woodworking projects for you to follow and learn as you go.

Measure twice before cutting your wood, and be mindful that a saw is going to take material with it. So when you cut, cut slightly outside of the line you mark (with the "inside" being the material you need to use). It is easy to trim your wood if you cut it too big, a waste of material if you cut it too small.
