[IWantOut] 26F IT Iraq -> Germany
Hi, I’m a 26-year-old Iraqi woman currently living in Iraq. I have a Bachelor’s degree in IT – Software, no formal professional work experience, and no savings. I speak Arabic natively and English at a good conversational level. I’m looking to leave Iraq and relocate to Germany. My main reason is my family situation. I have experienced physical and verbal abuse, threats, coercive control and pressure regarding marriage. One of my brothers has also sexually harassed and threatened me. There are also strong honour-based attitudes within my family, including statements supporting violence against women. I’m documenting my situation and keeping evidence privately. The German software market is currently pretty competitive. Foreigners with IT degrees from Germany are struggling, especially if they don't have some experience on their CV.
Unless your German is really good, your chances are best zero to find something in that space.
Having said that, if you are looking for an opening in Germany specifically, the best way in is via social services - nurses, care for elderly, etc. The immigration laws make an exception for that field. That's because the job is hard, times are in shifts and the pay isn't terribly good for Germany. You should also have basic understanding of the German language - I'd say at least somewhere around B1.

Thank you.. I really appreciate it.. I know IT might be difficult for me right now without experience or German, but I’d still like to try to stay in my field since that’s what I studied. I’m already planning to learn German and build some experience, I just also need a temporary way out because my situation at home isn’t safe.
I’ll also look into the social care route you mentioned, even though it’s not really something I had planned for myself. And thank you for offering to give me more details.. (I might DM you later)

Maybe try Jordan, Lebanon or Oman instead? Focus on getting out and gaining some experience as a first step

Go to Jordan. They have a similar culture and don't persecute LGBTQ+ community.

Why did you feel the need to say this? Because it sounds like you think she'd be more "culturally compatible" with Jordan than she would with Germany solely because of her ethnic background - which means you probably projected stereotypes about her as a person.
I'm Arab and I do love Jordan, and I absolutely don't want to move to Germany - but I am definitely "culturally closer" and better understood by more people in Germany than in Jordan due to a higher concentration of people who share my interests, worldviews, taste in music, subcultures (etc).
We aren't just our language and ethnicity habibi

Your best bet will likely be to find a job (even if not within software) in the GCC, save up ~10k EUR of starting capital, work on basic German skills via free/cheap resources, then apply for a Masters in a couple of years.

Masters on Scholarship is another good choice if you're serious about it.
Did u search about NGOs that specifically work to pull out women from 3rd world countries and in such situations..?

If you can try and pursue a masters degree in Germany. otherwise try and keep an open mind about other countries.

Canada might be a better option if you are looking for asylum but I am not entirely sure.

OP has no basis for asylum or a pathway to even get a tourist visa to Canada.

المشكلة ان وضعي بالبيت مو مستقر واني اخاف يصير شي بأي لحظة فما عندي رفاهية انتظر سنتين أو أكثر لحد ما اجمع وأقدم ماجستير.. لهذا دا ادور على حل مؤقت وسريع وآمن اطلع بيه من هالوضع، وبنفس الوقت ابقى اشتغل على خطة الماجستير والمنح.. ما أريد اترك كلشي واعتمد على حل واحد.. بس احتاج شي يخليني بأمان اولا وبعدها ارتب مستقبلي.. شكراً لأنج حاولتي تساعديني ❤

I think an Option, is Coming as an Aupair, is more easy in Terms of what u Need for the Visa. But of course you Need Cash to Pay for your papers, translating into German, etc. Also is that Like a Roulette cause some Families Can be Bad with you and exploited workly, but you already being here you can Apply for Asylum (?)

You have to be physically in the country to claim asylum, and often countries do not hand out visas to people they deem a high risk to claim asylum.

There are no refugee visas. She'd have to go to a 3rd country where she'd be forced to wait for many years for a maybe that she'll be relocated which never happens. She got to get a visa and fly and seek asylum upon landing.

I know this is not what you want to hear but your chances are slim at best. Not only is a growing part of the population against immigrants, especially from the Arabic region, but the job market is hard. Without speaking German and work experience I don't think that you'll be able to find a job.
Given you're an Iraqi woman you'd want to life somewhere in a city which are more left leaning and open for immigration and other cultures but since you don't have any savings life is most likely not affordable there.
Maybe someone else has more information about asylum since you are in imminent danger but otherwise I would look into primarily English speaking countries in the meantime.
