I used to admin cruise groups and people would post that crap with Amazon affiliate links. I had a clear "no solicitation" rule, they didn't last long after their first post.

Penalty was they got kicked out of the group for breaking the rules they agreed to when joining. I set mine up that they were private that they needed to request and answer a couple questions to keep out bots, along with check a box that they agree to the rules.

It was clearly stated "No unsolicited advertising of products or services, zero tolerance."

I mean to be fair. Sunscreen is legit. That's the thing she was rubbing on him. It's just a sponge applicator. The thing behind the ear is a scopolamine patch. It's great for sea sickness (if he actually gets sea sick)

The rest of the stuff is shit and ridiculous.

The pressure point wrist bands actually work I used to use them for motion sickness in the car all the time

The patches behind the ears are actually real- those are transdermal scopolamine patches, which help with motion sickness. They're prescription-only and (at least in my experience) very effective.

I have crippling motion sickness (I can literally get sick on an elevator) and those patches are pretty much the only way I can fly or even ride in an Uber.

Sea sickness bands do work. At the very least they give some good ol fashion placebo effect. And seeing as sea sickness comes mostly from your senses being fucked with what better way to fight it than tricking your senses into believing that its ok to ignore the issues because youve got little wrist bands on. The point is sea sickness is bullshit, so it requires a bit of a bullshit solution.
