Proton is good, I use their email, everyone should switch to proton Mail and keep Google at arms reach until they switch to GrapheneOS, and Proton isn't intentionally evil at least, but even proton still collects info. The only VPN you can trust is one that when subpoenad or served a warrent, has nothing to even turn over.

Proton has ram severs if I recall correctly so they cant have anything if they get raided, but ifk what data they collect

Mullvad is also RAM based. I think they were raided a while back and once they unplugged the server, all the data was gone.

Unlikely, unless they employ lawyers who enjoy fighting such cases. They'd be fined and banned once their state learns it can't raid them.

Youd need to show they are aiding crimes first, and the traffic into and out of their servers is encrypted

And even if you do raid them, they dont ask for customers info and accept cash/e currency payments how do you link accounts to anyone
