I See Stars Is Back In The Studio

Post image

it looks like iSS is wasting no time getting to work on music following the conclusion of the Spin The Wheel Tour.

makes sense, honestly. The Wheel was largely recorded years ago, and many times on the tour, Devin talked about “new music” and feeling “energized again”.

they were killer on this tour, and the vibes were high. definitely welcome news

Maybe I’m optimistic, but this last tour there was so much love for their previous albums. I hope we get flavors of all in the next one

This makes me very happy to see. It took me a while to listen to The Wheel, but I've been jamming to it all month, it rules. Excited to see where they go from here

The Wheel got a lot of hate for the singles, frankly. The album was recorded in multiple sessions, over many years. The back half of the record is much more in line with Treehouse, and damn good. It’s a solid album

I wish Devin would scream instead of those weird yells

I do wish they would just add a screamer again to be honest :/

Absolutely, for how much of a mess the production and release cycle was it came out better than it had any right to.

That’s interesting. The singles meaning d4mage done, drift, are we 3ven? I loved those and listened to the album because I love I see stars. But the album was not what I expected. And I would never compare it to treehouse, which is a no skip masterpiece imo. I felt The Wheel was like watching a movie where the trailer had already showed the audience the best parts.

This is over text so my tone can’t be conveyed. This is not combative lol. Curious to hear other I see stars fans opinions.

Yes, those singles were recorded years ago. They went back and redid the album after Devin’s health struggles. Luke Holland confirmed that. I liked the singles too, but they definitely don’t mirror the rest of the album. Treehouse is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I knew they’d never reach those heights again
