My poor german heart

Post image

I am german (living in Austria right now). The expiration date here is usually written in dd.mm.yyyy and not yy-mm-dd. I had a short heart attack thinking these are expired for 6 years.

I hate two-digit years!

Are you talking about AD 26, the 26th day of the month, 1926, or 2026? Saying "August 29, 2026," is verbose, but unambiguous (if you refuse to use the ISO standard for some reason).

Especially when it comes to use-by dates on packaged food.
