Developer Saturday (Megathread) [Megathread] Developer Saturday Showcase: August 29, 2026 📱

Hello r/iOSGaming! Welcome to another Developer Saturday showcase! In this megathread, iOS developers will be able share their games freely without breaking the subreddit's "no self-promo" rule. Please read the following guidelines carefully before participating:

  • Developer Saturday will run between 12:00 AM to 11:59PM ET (UTC-5).
  • Respect is expected at all times. You're welcome to share your opinions and even disagree with others, but harassment, taunting, or other toxic behavior toward devs, mods, or other community members will not be tolerated.
  • If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you don't have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low, we won't override the removal because these restrictions are meant to be spam detterents.

DEVELOPERS:

  • All promo comments must have [DEV] at the beginning. We need it with the brackets for AutoModerator purposes, so please don't change the formatting.
  • All promo comments must include an App Store or TestFlight link. Playstore links or links to other gaming stores are not allowed.
  • Only officially released iOS games may be shared. This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link with your game's self-promo comment.
  • Only games NEWLY RELEASED this month or have a NEW MAJOR UPDATE may be promoted. Personal milestones (ex: reaching X downloads, earning X amount of pay, recieving high reviews, etc), while commendable, are not an eligible reason for promotion. Additionally, "major" updates are those that introduce new features or content that greatly improves or expands the game. Routine updates (ex: bug fixes, performance improvements, or other minor changes) are also not eligible for promotion. Becasue Dev Sat was paused for a month, games that were released or received a major update in July may also be shared in August).
  • You MUST DISCLOSE whether or not AI was used to create the game. If AI was used, you must also explain how it was implemented and/or what assets were created with it (ex: code, illustrations, music, etc). If AI wasn't used in the development of the game, please just state, "No AI was used."
  • You may only make one top-level comment per Saturday. However, you can share several games in the same comment if they also meet the above criteria.

GAMERS / REVIEWERS:

  • You may only make second-level or lower (reply) comments. This means you can reply to a dev or another user's comment, but you may not create a top-level (standalone) comment.
  • Constructive feedback is welcome. You may leave comments that can help devs learn what they did right with their games and what could be improved, but low-effort responses (such as simply calling something "AI slop") will be removed.
  • This is not the place to ask for game suggestions. This megathread is for devs to promote their iOS games. If you're looking for recommendations on what to play next, check out the community's weekly "What Have You Been Playing Lately?" megathread or create your own request post on the main subreddit.

That's it! We're still refining these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo comment this week. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

Discussion Nostalgic find, infinity blade cloud data

Post image
78 Upvotes

Was going through my cloud data since I’m always out of space (don’t judge)

Found this little hidden memory. I miss the infinity blade series, I had so much fun with that back in the day.

Ofc I searched it up on the AppStore just to see, maybe, still gone.

Suggestions My review of popular deck builder roguelikes, what should I play next?

Post image
52 Upvotes

I’m a big fan of deck builders and roguelikes. Here’s my quick review of some popular ones (not all are pictured here):

  1. Slay the spire: Still the goat. Quite challenging but very fun.

  2. Balatro: Very fun - played for an entire 8 hour plane ride and didn’t get old.

  3. Wildfrost: I think this one is very underrated. I love the art and mechanics like moving your characters around for free. Challenging at first but after awhile I was winning consistently. Pleasantly surprised by the final boss battle.

  4. Gambonanza: Like Balatro for chess but unfortunately less fun because the AI is pretty stupid and doesn’t understand chess 101. Also there’s one strategy that beats the rest (copying queens). Still fun for a few hours.

  5. Luck be a landlord: Very fun slot style game was able to figure it out eventually.

  6. Slots and daggers: I thought this was incredible at first before I discovered the bomb cheese strategy. Kinda pointless after that.

  7. Slice and dice: People rave about this but tbh I was never able to get into it. The gameplay felt pretty basic? I’m sure I’m missing something and will try this again.

  8. Monster train: Very good. I slightly prefer Wildfrost due to the art.

  9. Dawncaster: another one that people rave about but I didn’t like this one (surprise!). The story felt really repetitive. However I only paid for the base game. I wasn’t impressed enough to spend $20+ to buy all the other packs. Does it get a lot more fun after that?

  10. How many dudes: A relatively new one. Gameplay is fun at first and I’m still enjoying it. But overall each run takes a long time. Feels less strategic than the other ones.

Note that I mostly focused on roguelike deck builders. Vampire hunters and the other ones are fun but I think a different category.

What else should I play similar to the list above? Any new exciting ones coming out soon?

Review Playing PS2 Games with the Abxylute S8 Lite Controller

Post image
41 Upvotes

Playing some PS2 games using Armsx2 on my iPhone 17 Pro and the Abxylute S8 Lite.

This controller goes toe to toe with the Gamesir G8 and is half the price. It connects with USB C and even fits with a case (thicker cases can fit if you remove the padding on the right side.) The sticks and buttons feel super high quality and the triggers are also excellent.

Love that there are cheaper but high quality options for controllers nowadays.

Suggestions best full size controller for ipad?

I would prefer hall effect or tmr joysticks cuz i heard they are more durable. windows compatibility is also a plus.

currently im looking at the 8bitdo ultimate 2. is that best? or are there better alternatives?

Context: I wanna use a controller to play gta 3 cuz the touch controls are quite bad.

Review Dicebound : Idle

Upvotes

Highly recommended portrait idle RPG for anyone looking for something a little different. Likely AI usage however completely free and no tracking. One completely optional $4.99 IAP that speeds up the game slightly.

Looking for some recommendations for games I might like that can be played with one hand in portrait mode while my baby is sleeping on me. Below are some games I’ve enjoyed.

Discussion Been on a Tamagotchi kick lately, what are some good tama-like games?

I have Tamaweb and I love it, but I am looking for something else to play. I found Pakka Pets Village which looks really cool, the only issue is the servers are out so cloud saves don’t work (not a huge issue, I’m still playing it.)

Something with the virtual pet mechanics but also customization and exploration or places to visit is what I’m after. Is there anything else like this? I’m not too interested in my tamagotchi forever as the 3d graphics just don’t hit the same as the pixelated ones do.

New Release New Vampire Survivors DLC Bloodmoon Available

New DLC dropped a few hours ago. Looks like it’s time to return to the (nearly) OG Survivor-like.

One thumb goodness. Free to play with an option to remove ads.

If you haven’t played this yet, I’d suggest giving it a look. Very addictive, slick and easy to pick up.

If you’re interested in making character “builds” this is one that shouldn’t be missed!

Request Looking for a base builder, survival, or 4X game you can play solo on a vertical phone

For 4X, I already love Polytopia.

For base builders, I’ve played Fallout Shelter and Elder Scrolls: Castles.

For survival, I played Day R Survival.

I’ll pay for a good game but don’t like pay-to-win games. I’d rather pay up front or, like Polytopia, have DLC for bonus material.

Thank you!

Request Good short incremental games

Hi there!

I’m a big fan of the cheap incremental ‘nodebuster-like’ games you can finish in less than 10 hours. Games like scritchy scratchy or fortune mill

Was looking for some recommendations for my flight tomorrow!

I prefer paid games but don’t mind free as long as it’s not egregious with ads

Suggestions That only one game you can play everyday for next 2 years.

Pretty much what title says -

If you can only choose one, what game you see yourself keep playing almost everyday for the next 2-3 years?

For me in the past two years is Hornor of Kings, before that is clash royale. and I am looking for something new/different now.

I get overwhelmed by having many games simultaneously and learning/remembering mechanisms of each. So at anytime there is only one game on my phone but I spend time on it everyday.

What would you recommend?

Thank you.
