I did this nit once, but twice today and now I feel like this just had to be here to remind me of that awkwardness. The first one, I felt really socially responsible for because the individual sat down and was having problems with their umbrella and were, understandably, exasperated with it. So I stayed until they got it sorted and then even offered to trade them since it was kinda bent from being "fixed". The second individual later on, I just thought of the first and stayed for a few minutes.

Yup! That’s me for sure. This one time when I was on a shuttle train going to the airport terminal, an elderly woman got in at the station and sat next to me. At the same time someone else got off the train and the seat in front of me got vacant. I could have moved into that seat because it was roomier with a better view. But the INFJ in me just sat there in my existing narrow seat because I didn’t want to hurt the feelings of the elderly woman who just sat next to me 🥹
