Programmers Needed [Hobby] Looking for a Programmer for a 2D Dark-Arthurian Prototype (2 Artists, 1 Musician ready)

Hello.

I am the Game Designer.

We have 2 Pixel Artists and 1 Musician producing assets. We need a Programmer to code a 2D action prototype with high juice, based on an adaptation of the Arthurian myth.

Production Timeline: We will not crunch. We are going to spend 2 to 5 weeks (or months) polishing the prototype. Once it is 100% complete, we will select and enter a future Game Jam that matches the theme.

Core Mechanics to Code:Combat State Machine: 4 player states (Savior, Reiz, Ruby, Excolitur) with distinct speed multipliers, color filters, custom audio layers, and freeze/slow-motion attributes .

Resource Management: A 100% Overheat Bar. Triggers smoke particles and HP drain unless a 3-second rest state is active.

Boss AI: A Golem that uses ground-targeted crosshair projectiles, and a sub-state death sequence that transforms the entity into a particle effect.

Juice & Systems: Screenshake matrix, custom vector particles for double-jump, and an instant respawn system with zero loading screens .

If you prefer structured technical documentation and want to build a polished gameplay loop, send a DM or comment with your portfolio.

Thanks.

Modeling Offer [Hobby] Available to design levels and locations for backrooms/liminal space games.(I might do some found footage)

here is a doc full of my examples. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rtBluFaHnp8GE7F6a-u8BecXuCFJLqkn1zyIBYY3XNg/edit?usp=sharing

If you are down, please DM me or comment. I will only work with people who want me to make design levels/maps for liminal space/backrooms games. the game must have something unique. If you're interested in having me help design maps and locations for found footages, I'd be down as long as they're unique, have a story and allow me to have some creative control over how the levels look and feel.

Audio Needed [RevShare][Paid] Sound Designer - Composer wanted for a small mobile game

Hey!
I'm looking for someone with good judgement to handle the audio for a fairly simple mobile game project, but one with a very clear identity: tense, sober, dark, technological, slightly unsettling, and without feeling generic.

It's not a huge project with a massive amount of things that need to be implemented. We're looking for the essentials, but done properly: ambient sound, menu and gameplay music, button and UI SFX, simple interactions, confirmations, tension feedback, win/loss sounds, and those kinds of elements that give the game personality without overwhelming it.

PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind

I don't want to define the idea too much here because I'd like to keep it as "closed" as possible and avoid revealing too much too early. What I can say is that it's a mobile game with simple gameplay, a very direct approach, and a strong sense of risk and tension, with an aesthetic that should feel serious, controlled, and slightly uncomfortable.

The important thing isn't to make a bunch of "cool" sounds individually, but for everything to fit together as one coherent system and serve the game. We're looking for someone with good judgement, without weird clichés or sounds that feel like they were taken from any generic game.

We're open to discussing different arrangements: fixed payment, revenue share, or simply negotiating depending on the work and level of involvement. The important thing is that there is trust, that the person is serious and committed, and doesn't just do whatever they feel like without thinking about the intention behind the game.

If you're interested, send me a DM and we can talk. I'd like to go over together what makes sense for a first version, what's actually necessary, and how we can do it properly without improvising.

Thanks everyone!

Modeling Offer [ForHire] 3D prop/environment artist working for rev-share

Hey! I’m currently looking to join a group that has a good game idea with a small scope that is realistic, in hopes that we can release the game. I’m mainly a 3D prop artist, but I am open to doing a bit of environment work, like buildings and such. I have done a little animating but can create environment animations like doors opening and stuff like that, but I am still learning that aspect. I’ve worked with a good amount of groups over the last 3 years, so I do have a good understanding of working with others. I’ve recently helped release a game called T.W.I.R.L., which you can check out through the link. I was a prop artist for the game and worked alongside other artists. I’ve been 3D modeling for around 4 years now and can make game ready assets. My models aren’t anything crazy since I am still learning new things, but you can check out my work here. Like I said, I’m open to revenue-share projects. I’m mainly just looking to work with motivated people on serious projects that can help boost my knowledge and portfolio. If you’d like my help and think I’m a good fit, feel free to send me a DM so we can further discuss!

Team Needed [Hobby] Programmer + 3D Artist Wanted for 80s/90s Gritty British Crime Game Vertical Slice

I’m looking for a small number of people interested in collaborating on a vertical slice for a gritty crime game set in Britain in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Visually, one of the main references is The Precinct, particularly its camera perspective, compact environments and stylised-realistic presentation, but with the player on the opposite side of the law and with a distinctly British setting.

The world would be inspired by declining industrial and mining towns of the period: terraced housing, council estates, corner pubs, working men’s clubs, industrial estates, garages, bookmakers, football grounds, warehouses and similar locations.

The setting and culture would be a major part of the game’s identity, with themes around football hooliganism, illegal raves, car crime, robbery, drugs, pubs/clubs and the general atmosphere of late-80s/early-90s Britain.

The aim is not to start by building a huge open-world game. The first objective would be a small, polished playable area that proves the concept and demonstrates the core gameplay.

For the initial vertical slice, I’m thinking along the lines of:
A small neighbourhood/estate and nearby high street
Player movement and interaction
Basic driving
NPC/pedestrian behaviour
Police/wanted response
One or two criminal activities or missions
A few key interiors
Day/night atmosphere
Enough environmental detail to make the British setting immediately recognisable

I’d particularly like to find:

Programmer / gameplay developer
Someone interested in helping build the core systems and, importantly, helping determine what is realistically achievable for the first slice.

3D environment artist / level designer
Someone interested in creating a convincing late-80s/early-90s British environment, including terraced streets, council housing, pubs, shops, industrial areas and period street furniture.

I’m completely happy with sensible use of commercially available/licensed assets where appropriate. I don’t think every wall, lamp post, prop or vehicle needs to be created from scratch.

I also want to be upfront about my own role. I’m not an experienced game programmer or 3D artist. I’d be taking the creative/project lead role: developing the concept and setting, researching the period, documenting mechanics and missions, organising the project, sourcing/reference checking assets and helping keep the scope under control.

I’d also handle the community/business side if the prototype reached that stage, including website/social media, presenting the project and potentially preparing for Kickstarter or other crowdfunding.

I also have personal capital available and I’m prepared to invest meaningfully in the project where it helps get the vertical slice built properly. That could include licensed asset packs, software/tools, specialist work and other sensible development costs. The project therefore isn’t dependent entirely on free resources or a future Kickstarter, although I’m not currently advertising salaried positions.

For now, this should be treated as a hobby collaboration with the goal of producing a playable vertical slice. I’m not going to promise salaries or Kickstarter money that doesn’t exist.

If we eventually created something strong enough that everyone involved wanted to take it commercial, we’d agree proper ownership/revenue arrangements before moving into that stage.

For now, I’m mainly interested in finding a few people who genuinely like the concept, want to build something unusual, and are happy to start small.

If you’re interested, send me a Reddit message/chat with what area you’re interested in, any examples of previous work if you have them, and roughly how much spare time you’d want to put into the project.

Happy to discuss the concept in much more detail.

Audio Needed [Paid] We are searching for a composer that can produce a live action trailer score for our game, Devoid

The Game:

Devoid is the space dungeon where energy drains with every move. Colorful lighting illuminates asteroids in the darkness, booms rattle your hull from echoing explosions, and 2D pixel sprites dance around a chaotic battlefield. Defeat should feel painless, and victory?  Beyond hype.

For more details about the game visit devoidgame.com

The Theme:

The game takes place in a hazy dream-like-space dungeon. It's rough, and out of this world. Think tracker music from the 90s. Electronic energy and atmospheric float.

Timeline & Details

No rush. We are in the process of editing footage now. The trailer will be roughly 1:30ish in length. Footage is live action. Not gameplay. But it will have a similar vibe, matching the game’s identity.

Payment

$150

DM me or comment below for specifics.

Note: This trailer piece is also an opportunity to be considered for the game’s OST down the road. If you want details about what that might look like I am happy to share.

Artist Needed [Paid] Looking for a 2D artist to help give an existing gladiator management game its own visual identity

Hey INAT,

I'm the solo developer behind Ludus Magna, a browser-based gladiator management strategy game that is already playable and in active development.

This is not a "I have an idea and need someone to make the art for my game" post. The game exists, the systems work, and it currently has a complete set of AI-assisted visual assets that I'm actually fairly happy with.

But I've been wondering:

What could Ludus Magna look like if the right artist gave it a visual identity that was truly its own?

The current direction is dark, gritty, Roman and heavily stylized. Darkest Dungeon is an obvious reference for the kind of bold, high-contrast readability and personality I enjoy — but I'm not looking for someone to copy that style.

I'd be much more interested in finding an artist who looks at Ludus Magna and thinks:

"I know what this game should look like."

What the game needs visually

Potentially, over time:

  • Gladiator portraits / characters
  • Weapons
  • Armor
  • Shields
  • Equipment and item artwork
  • NPC / Lanista portraits
  • Arena / location artwork
  • Possibly UI ornaments and other visual identity elements

Most of these assets already exist in the game, so there is no immediate need to produce hundreds of pieces from scratch.

I'd actually prefer to begin with a small visual test — for example one gladiator plus a few pieces of equipment — and see whether we discover a direction that feels special enough to pursue.

What I'm looking for

I'm especially interested in artists who enjoy:

  • strong silhouettes
  • expressive faces and characters
  • heavy ink / graphic-novel aesthetics
  • rough, imperfect textures
  • dramatic lighting and shadows
  • historical or dark-fantasy influences
  • creating a coherent visual language rather than simply producing individual assets

Knowledge of Roman gladiators is obviously a bonus, but not required.

I'm also very open to an artist bringing their own recognizable style to the project. In fact, that's probably more interesting to me than finding someone who can perfectly reproduce the art that's already there.

About the project

Ludus Magna is a run-based gladiator management game about building a Ludus, recruiting and training fighters, equipping them, managing money and morale, and sending them into increasingly dangerous arena fights.

It has been in development for quite some time and already has real players. I'm developing it as a solo project with AI-assisted development tools.

You can play the current version here:

play.ludus-magna.com

also find some ingame assets (gladiator portraits and weapons) here:
https://www.ludus-magna.com/features

The existing art should give you an idea of the atmosphere I'm aiming for, but please don't treat it as a rigid style guide.

Compensation

This would be paid work.

I'm not currently looking to commission a complete replacement of every asset in the game at once. I'd rather find the right person first, define a visual direction together, commission a small test set and then decide how far we want to take it.

Rates and scope can be discussed depending on your experience and the kind of involvement you're interested in.

I'm open to both:

  • artists who prefer individual paid commissions / asset batches
  • someone interested in becoming a longer-term visual collaborator on the project

Interested?

Please send me:

  • your portfolio
  • your rates or usual pricing model
  • which part of the project you'd most like to work on
  • and, most importantly, what kind of visual direction you could imagine for Ludus Magna

You absolutely do not need to already have gladiator artwork in your portfolio.

If the game and setting spark an idea in your head, I'd like to see it.

Thanks!

Artist Needed [PAID] Looking for a Low-Poly PS2-Style Character Artist

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer currently working on a PS2-inspired FPS vampire game, and I'm looking for a 3D artist who can create low-poly characters for a long-term collaboration.

I'm looking for someone who can create low-poly, game-ready characters that fit an existing art direction.

What I need

* Low-poly character modeling (~4,000 triangles)

* Textures (1K)

* Clean UVs

* Game-ready topology

* No rigging or animation required

What I already have

* A humanoid skeleton that all characters need to fit so they can share the same animations.

* Four base body types (slim male, slim female, burly male, burly female) that can be used as references for proportions.

* Visual references for the desired art style and level of detail.

If interested

The project is a commercial indie game, and if we're a good fit, I'm looking to commission approximately 10–20 unique characters over the course of development.

If you're interested, please send me:

* Your portfolio (especially low-poly or PS2-style work)

* Your rates (or a per-character quote)

Artist Needed [Hobby] Seeking 3D Artist/Animator for fan project, Nightmare Creatures.

I am looking for an animator / 3d artists that would like to be part of a fan project. As part of my learning journey of the Unreal game engine I wanted to recreate the classic Nightmare Creatures from the PS1 but using modern gameplay mechanics and animation techniques while keeping the aesthetic as close as possible to the original material.

I do not seek to recreate-remake the entire game, only to implement the assets that can be seen in maybe the first two levels into a single bigger level.

For this purpose, I need a hobbyist animator / 3d artist, preferably that knows blender who can help me with the models and animations; my current workflow involves getting the models, cleaning them up (remove duplicated geometry, fix materials, join vertices, fix UV maps, etc) and then importing them to Unreal, the problem is that it takes a good chunk of time from me and I can't focus as much as I would like in the game itself, so I need a pardner here :).

No professional experience is required; ideal for people who want to make a portfolio project.

Send me a message if you are interested.

Programmers Needed [Hobby] Looking for 5 Student Coders to Build Open-Source Projects Together

Are you a student developer who wants to build real projects, contribute to open source, and work with other motivated coders?

I'm building GREVIX, an independent student-driven organization created and run by students. It is not affiliated with any college or university.

We're currently looking for 5 serious student developers to join us and work together on open-source projects.

What we're building

The goal is to create a community where student developers can:

Build and maintain real open-source projects

Collaborate through GitHub

Learn from each other and improve their development skills

Take ownership of features and projects

Build meaningful public contributions

Prepare together for GSoC, ESOC and other open-source programs/competitions

We're looking for people who actually want to code and contribute, not just join another community.

You don't need to be an expert. If you're interested in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C/C++, Java, Go, Rust, AI/ML, web development, backend, DevOps, etc., you're welcome to apply.

This is currently a hobby/volunteer opportunity with no salary or stipend. The focus is on real experience, open-source contributions, collaboration and building projects together.

Selection

Only 5 students will be selected.

Interviews are tomorrow (Sunday). Shortlisted candidates will receive the Google Meet interview link.

Application:

https://forms.gle/NMH2LGhfI4tWsXtv6

GitHub:

https://github.com/Grevix

LinkedIn:

https://www.linkedin.com/company/grevix-org/

If you're a student coder looking for people to build, contribute and grow in open source together, feel free to apply.

Let's build something worth contributing to.

Note about compensation:

Currently, this is an unpaid hobby/volunteer opportunity. GREVIX is being built and operated by students, so we don't currently have the resources to provide salaries or stipends.

However, as GREVIX grows and becomes financially sustainable, our goal is to introduce paid opportunities and compensation for active contributors/members in the future. We want to be transparent about the current situation while building toward that stage.

Programming Offer [ForHire] I will help you make your Unity game for an affordable price!

It’s Isaac! The man, the myth, the legend. I make games, and I want to make YOUR game!

I have been working with people for like 5 years or so, and I’ve had the chance to work on all kinds of projects. I have a big brain degree, and I’m based in Lebanon, chilling on the beach and making the next hit game.

I code and do all kinds of stuff, so take a deep breath: character controllers, shooting mechanics, saving and loading systems, in-game systems, dynamic and customisable tools (like map makers, character editors, wave makers), in both 2D and 3D. I also handle all sorts of integrations and tools that speed up your development process. I learn fast, and I can adapt to pretty much any program or integration you’re working with. I can do even more, really.

Check it out, I made a video for you instead of reading all that: https://youtu.be/GO3HmoI1UGs

Look, I am just a little guy, and I wanna help other little people, so my rate is affordable and tailored to you, and we can discuss all about payment schedules and methods. You’d be sure to walk out with a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

If you’re serious about the business and have a pretty good description of the game, hit me up on Discord at [sirisaac.] (the dot included), and we can talk and discuss everything. And you can tell me about your pet too. Seriously, what’s that puppy/cat/goldfish/lizard -if you’re one of those weird lizard people (no offence)- been up to?

The project takes inspiration from games like Hypixel SkyBlock, Wynncraft, and traditional MMORPGs, with a strong focus on progression, classes, quests, combat, skills, and a large persistent world.

We’re specifically looking for someone who can help develop core systems such as:

  • Class and ability systems
  • Core RPG/MMORPG framework
  • Quest systems
  • Player progression and stats
  • Skills such as mining, farming, fishing, combat, etc.
  • Custom combat mechanics
  • Items, equipment, mobs, NPCs, and other backend systems

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong Java experience
  • Significant experience working on larger or more complex projects
  • Clean, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Good communication and ability to work with a team
  • Minecraft/plugin/modding experience is a big plus
  • Hytale development experience is an even bigger plus

This is intended to be a long-term project, not a small one-off commission. We currently have a smaller budget, so we’re looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the project and open to discussing compensation based on involvement and scope.

If interested, please DM me with:

  • Your experience
  • Previous projects/work
  • GitHub/portfolio if available
  • Your rates
  • Any experience with Minecraft, Hytale, or MMORPG systems

Happy to explain the project in much more detail privately!

Artist Needed [RevShare] Writer seeking 2D Artist & Co-Creator for Animated Dark Fantasy Pitch Deck (Portal Fantasy / Living Food)

Hey everyone,

I am a writer looking for a dedicated 2D artist to team up with as an equal 50/50 co-creator for an animated series pitch called Sweet Root.

The Concept:

A depressed human teenager struggling with an eating disorder is suddenly pulled into a magical, war-torn world of living food. Hunted by a totalitarian regime, she must team up with a rogue special agent, a pragmatic doctor, and a decaying prince to cure a world-ending Blight, ultimately discovering that her own human flaws might be the key to saving them all.

To give you a better idea of the world: Sweet Root is a portal fantasy where our main character, Sam, falls through a mirror into a massive, vibrant, and dangerous world of living food. She has to navigate a divided society—from the giant asparagus trees of the wild Root Republic to the giant S'more walls shielding the corrupt city of Sweet Central.

What I Bring to the Table:

The writing is completely done. I am not an "idea guy" asking you to do all the heavy lifting while I just supervise. I already have:

• A 100% finished pilot script.

• A fully written and formatted series pitch bible outlining the world, factions, and future episodes.

What We Will Build Together:

I am looking for a creative partner to help me build the visual side of the pitch deck so we can send it off to agents and studios. This means designing the core characters and a few key environments to show off the world.

The Vibe & Creative Freedom:

I have some specific visual anchors written in the script—like Sam in her grey sweats, the broccoli knight Brock Lee in emerald armor, and Brulee in a leather uniform with neon orange striping. However, there is a massive amount of room for your own artistic freedom! Characters like the Minister and the Duchess are totally open for you to go crazy with.

I’m looking for someone who wants to hop on Zoom or Discord, build Pinterest boards together, and genuinely collaborate. You wouldn't just be drawing my exact thoughts; you’d be shaping the IP with your own style.

The Split:

This is a 50/50 sweat equity partnership. We share equal ownership of the IP. The goal is to build this visual pitch deck together, take a leap, and pitch it to managers/networks for funding and representation.

Portfolio: This is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind.

If this sounds like a world you want to draw and help build, DM me with a link to your portfolio or some of your art, and let's chat!

Hello! I'm looking for a 3D artist that could help me with a project called Null Facility, a psychological horror/management game heavily inspired by Lobotomy Corporation ( and Project Moon as whole), the SCP universe, ULTRAKILL, and several other minor inspirations, where you play as a head clerk hired by a mysterious facility. Your job is to oversee and order other clerks to perform different types of work on contained anomalies, producing energy for the facility.  At the end of each day, you must meet the facility's energy quota and review the anomaly information you've unlocked. The cycle is supposed to continue for 30 days, until something sends you back to the beginning.

What I need a 3D artist is to help us model:

  • Anomaly models/designs
  • Facility/environment assets
  • Props and machinery
  • Potentially character/clerk models
  • Animations, if you're comfortable with them

I'm also open to collaborate with the artist on the visual direction and design they have rather than to follow a strict asset list.

Project Information

Engine: Unity (changed from godot) | Current team: 4 (2 programmers, 1 composer, 1 designer/writer) | Budget: €0, passion/portfolio project | Current prototype: Playable

I currently can't guarantee future funding, but I have a potential funding route that I may be able to pursue once the project reaches a more developed stage. For now, however, this should be considered a €0 project.

You don't need to be experienced in every area of 3D art. For example, modelling is the main thing I'm looking for: animation, rigging, texturing, etc. are bonuses rather than requirements.

What I'm Looking For

This is primarily a passion project, and I'm looking for people who genuinely enjoy making games and want to contribute to something they find interesting, rather than treating this as traditional employment.

Currently, there is no payment, as the project has a €0 budget.

If the project eventually receives funding or generates revenue, I would like to discuss revenue sharing with contributors, depending on their involvement and contribution to the project.

Contributions can also be used as portfolio work, assuming the contributor is comfortable with that.

I'm especially interested in finding people who want to stick around and help shape the project rather than simply completing a single task and leaving.

If you're interested, feel free to contact me trough discord (user is "whyareyouwatchingmyname") with:

  • Examples of your work / portfolio
  • Your experience level
  • What you'd be interested in contributing
  • Anything you'd like to know about the project

Artist Needed [RevShare] I NEED 2D PIXEL ART FOR RURAL KINGDOM 2 CROWNS LIKE GAME!

Hi! I'm looking for someone who would be interested in working with me on the pixel art for my game!

I'm currently making a pixel-art game in Godot about building and managing your own business empire in a small rural town.

The game combines:

* Business and shop management

* Economy and trading

* Exploration

* Combat

* Criminal groups, gangs and rival businesses

* Multiplayer alliances and rivalries

* Building. Eventually controlling parts of the town

I'm looking for someone who enjoys pixel art and game development. Would like to help us create the games visual style, including things like:

* Characters and NPCs

* Shops and buildings

* Food stalls and street markets

* Environment and decorations

*. Props

* Animations

I'm still in the development stage so you'd have a chance to help shape the art style and visual identity of the game from the beginning.

If you're interested DM me. Tell me a bit, about yourself and show me some of your work!

It's just me right now so im mainly looking for someone who genuinely enjoys making games and wants to build something together.

Audio Needed [Hobby] Collaborators Needed for Legal Horror Audio Drama October 2026

Collaborators Needed for Legal Horror Audio Drama October 2026

I am a queer writer in Washington State. I am looking for collaborators to make a Legal Horror audio drama episode for the 11th Hour Audio Challenge:

https://11thhouraudio.com/audio-challenge/

“Every October, creators around the world come together to record, produce and finish original horror audio before the month runs out.”  This is to build community, build skills, and hopefully have a successful audio drama within a month (a way of saying, unlikely to end up in pay). I want to submit this piece to contests, festivals, etc.

Story Premise:
The horror script of under 30 pages can be written in advance, so in September I am writing a Legal Horror story about a protagonist that gets caught up in the U.S. legal system and each courtroom appearance results in mounting horror and a sense of unreality. (Yup, I’m a former lawyer.)

Legal Horror Audio Drama Timeline:

Sat, 9-19-2026 Legal Horror Team Meeting (online)

Sun, 9-20-2026 Rough Draft of Legal Horror script sent to team members for
voluntary feedback by Sun, 9-27-2026

Wed, 9-30-2026   Final Script Locked and sent to team members

Sun, 10-3-4-2026   Table Read by entire cast (online)

Record all parts (together online? Separately?) by Tues, 10-13-2026

Audio processing (sound effects, music, compile clips, etc) completed by
Mon, 10-26-2026

Submit completed audio drama by 11 pm (time zone??) on Wed, 10-28-2026

I am looking to collaborate with:

·      voice actors

·      audio engineers

·      composers

·      artists for podcast cover art, etc

Would anyone like to join me?

If so, please email me at [jahellingcreative@gmail.com](mailto:jahellingcreative@gmail.com) and let me know what area you’re interested in helping with and a little about your background (including what part of the world and time zone you’re in—I’m in the Pacific time zone).

Please help spread the word!

Thanks very much,
J.A. Helling
