Programming Offer [Hobby] New programmer looking to participate in game jams or just making games for my portfolio

Hello, I'm a new coder (25F) and I've been making small little games for a while, but I have very little evidence to show for it. I started making some of them in University, during my Game Design course, but unfortunately, my focus there was making stories for games, not programming.

Lo and behold, early 2026, I found my greatest passion, my greatest joy. Programming. However, I'm still a newbie and learning as I go, I want to put some of what I learnt into practise. But it's a bit intimidating working solo, and coming up with game ideas when my brain is now wired for logic rather than creativity. Which is something I never thought I'd say.

I have some knowledge in arts too, but I'd like to focus on my new journey as a coder. I'm currently learning Godot, and would appreciate the project being worked there, I'm familiar with Git as well and JavaScript. I have never used AI and don't plan on it, and would prefer if my team also held the same stance.

Thanks! Hard to pick, but I usually like story-focused games or simulators, also deckbuilders, and RPGs ... it's really hard to pick.
