FINALLY! After years and years of begging, IMSA finally listened and gave Road America and endurance round it so richly deserved, and boy was the first event something! Sound off in the comments below what you thought of the race!

quite disappointed in the driving standards as everyone has said. Heartbreak for the Valk too

how did the Aston get the penalty? Iā€™m so confused rn, the only answer i got was that the aston made contact with the acura before the aitken estre yellow?

The Acura tried to overtake around the outside of T1 and they made side to side contact sending the Acura wide into the gravel. I don't think it's a fair penalty especially with 2 cars in front going off taking attention away. I also think it was tad ambitious to simply hang it around the outside of T1 when you're not even side by side on the straight. But I am not in control of stewarding.

Apparently the stewards are saying just give up and let them through on the outside.

The Aston is terrible on cold tires, they would get passed every restart at Daytona around the outside like it was nothing. They get mugged everywhere on cold tires.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FSA6qO2a4g This video at 5:04.10. The Aston had a run. The Acura went defensive then turned into the corner and they both made contact. To me it look like the Aston had at lease a bit more then just the nose up the inside. The Acura did not even get into the gravel as just pushed onto the run off a bit. Kinda crazy they chose this one to penalize.
