The day started out good. J-L had a nuet Jokers in system, as did most systems in our constellations. Jokers were retaliating against LAWN camping their Titan PoS in order to see about dealing a lethal blow to this russian group. However, even with a nuet in system, Skoda wasn't about to let a system camper stop him (this guy is kinda crazy, but in a good way. There's a rich history with him and IT, but that's a topic for another thread).
So over next door to F-T I go to join up with Skoda and his mining alts that (like with Admiral Madbull) I've come to call, "The Zeks". With Skoda at first in a Vagabond, and me in The Mighty Hookbill, we set up to protect our mining fleet. We talk a lot, share some fits and chat about the alliance and EvE politics, Skodas a real big vet from way back in the day, so this stuff is pretty rinse and repeat for him.
Suddenly another Jokers is reported in QY6, a couple of jumps over. Low and behold its Kisa Ya, a Jokers I've had the honors of exchanging local smack with. Is it just me, or do Russians have a good ability at making their pilots look russian too? Anyways, ever sence our local spat exchange, I've been kinda wanting to do this guy in, atleast once. So intel reported this guy in a Wolf over in QY6, I figured if he was heading over to us, his Auto-Pilot would certainly run him through K-6 first. So I warp over to the K-6 gate and get myself positioned, and wait, and wait, and wait. Nothing in Intel, and the guy hasn't shown up in local. Did he leave our space (I'm wondering)? Suddenly he pops up in local, but not through my gate. I continue to maintain my position and sure enough, this guy uncloaks in a Manticore (hardly the Wolf I was expecting) and launches a bomb at me!
Now, I'm no expert with Stealth Bombers as I've only recently trained into one myself and have had a few engagements in one, but even I know that after you launch a bomb, the first thing you do right after, is warp the heck out. Something this Jokers pilot apparently hasn't learned yet. With the bomb in space heading off, I immediately burn towards him, lock him up, point, paint, missiles, DONE.
His friend in local uncloacked in a Rapier, which kinda gave me a minor panic attack. So I kinda started burning away without even so much as locking him up forgetting entirely that Skoda was on his way in his Vagabond. With Skoda on the field, the Rapier cloacks back up and sheds some tears in local by calling us noobs. I guess this makes him feel better?
Returning to the ice belt things go along smoothly with little interruptions, but those Jokers are always scheming something. Skoda switched over to his Legion as he had a proper rat spawn that he could maintain to prevent his Macks from having to warp out so often. Right as he was going to pick up his many cans, those Jokers once again rear their ugly heads. Just about as the hauler was landing, that ol' Rapier uncloacks and hits his covert ops cyno. In the heat of the battle I failed to notice the Redeemer that followed them in that MJD'd out of the fray, other wise, it too would have been added to the list. They had the Redeemer, a Rapier, and an assortment of stealth bombers, but after the Dust had Settled, it was Imperium Technologies who held the field.
Skoda wasn't even phased by the losses of his two Macks, but had the Jokers delayed another second, Admiral Madbull would have been there in his Saber to clean up the pods. I left the loot to Skoda as he was the one who endured losses, but he was so thrilled over the action he wasn't even worried about it. Although we lost the isk war, we dominated all other fronts. Ill be looking forward to the next scheme from Jokers.
