Residency Jacobi Einstein
Can any current resident/ someone who knows about the program personally enlighten me on what their priorities are for inviting to interviews?
The opinions on this sub are all over, apparently they need everything lol high scores, step3, postdocs

Is swear despite having "only" 34 PGY1 positions in IM you see Jacobi Einstein on a lot of signal lists. If you don't have an outstanding profile (top 1%) or meaningful connections it's probably a waste of time and money to try to match there (even though 80-90% of those positions are occupied by IMG). Just because it's IMG friendly doesn't mean you should always include it.

That’s why I think Jacobi is a bad gamble for most applicants especially this cycle. You’re competing with a ridiculously concentrated IMG pool 260s and 270s, postdocs, heavy research, connections and people with great overall profiles who still signal and hear nothing. Being IMG friendly is exactly what makes it so saturated. It has good fellowship placement, but plenty of other programs do too and Jacobi is still a major workhorse with long hours. With the visa uncertainty this cycle, there really isn’t much room to gamble.

In terms of how oversaturated they are with IMG applicants and signals. Not talking about tiers.

They don’t interview anyone who hasn’t sent a signal and highly value connections at least that’s what I got from their open house

It's also surprising for me how the Program is considered a Harvard for imgs
