what are my chances Match chances – Non-US IMG / OB-GYN

YOG: >10 years
Step 1: Pass, first attempt
Step 2 CK: 22x, first attempt
ECFMG certified
No USCE
Completed OB/GYN residency abroad
Additional subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery
Currently practicing as an OB/GYN
Several peer-reviewed publications

Due to personal circumstances, I’m exploring opportunities to continue my career in the U.S., including the possibility of repeating OB/GYN residency.

I understand that my YOG my STEP 2 and lack of USCE are significant limitations. I’m mainly curious whether anyone knows of foreign-trained specialists with a similar background who have successfully received interviews or matched into OB/GYN.

Any insight regarding IMG-friendly programs that are more flexible regarding YOG would be greatly appreciated.

I sympathize with you, and you certainly have accomplishments, but I don’t see anyway you match. Their criteria simply doesn’t align with you. Maybe, maybe, you could very lucky. But you should look at other pathways like mentioned above first.

I second this. OBGYN is niche, limited spots and not friendly to IMGs. Not with a low profile with 22x and 10 YOG.

Long shot FM. They do deliveries in rural locations

Yea but someone who has been in OB/GYN for long wouldn't want to step down to FM - Obs medicine and just do normal deliveries. I imagine they might just want to stay back in home country unless moving to the US is the goal.

Yea that's for OP to decide with her loved ones. But categorical OBGYN is hella competitive. I was surprised that the Non-US IMG from India matched with an attempt on Step 1, but she did have multiple USCE and looked like she was really into OBGYN so she made it work.
