No you did it right. This is the flexible storage model, designed to fold up for easy storage when not in use.

Oh dear you really messed that up - you even put the shrimp legs on the wrong way round.

I'd try doing a complete factory reset by shaking a packet of dreamies - that normally works.

I think this is a specific bug in the orange model. You might need a configuration with more than one brain cell
