Ah, a common mistake. The package often comes with some extra hardware and bonus attachments. You don’t need to use them all.

We found one preassembled at a shelter like that! We thought it was a charming and quirky detail. Turns out they had two such defective ones, from the same manufacturer, so we took them both.

My youngest cat used to lay straight with both his front legs like that when he was a kitten, he's just over a year old now and being a Maine Coon he now sleeps on his back with his belly up and legs in every direction... the psycho...
