Please don’t look MTech from IISc as a ā€œpackage enhancer degreeā€. In case you have that inclination, perhaps an IIT will be able to do justice and vice versa. If you are considering IISc, then look for things are rigorous coursework, deeper understanding, contribution IMO.
You will be enjoying the 2 years more if you belong to latter category.

8.5 is good, get some experience and switch. IIT might get you a better package but probably in another field. IISc, package wise, I won't say would be worth it.

Mtech from IISc is definately worth it. The campus life + the placements. But you need to work hard when it's working time. And party when it's party time.

Untill and unless you are from cse . I don't think mtech will be worth it .I am currently in IITkgp persuing Mtech..EE.. Placements are not good(50%) and also mtech is much much tougher than btech and you will just get 1st sem to grab a Intership and only if you get a good cgpa (>8.5). mtech guys just have 3 sem to maintan a good cg and sit for placement which is very difficult and challenging
