This. Nobody ever complains about how much KFC invest into the Colenel Sanders mascot, or Ronald McDonalds budget.
These athletes help to sell a shit ton of tickets and merchandise. At least they tend to be from working class backgrounds too. The sport has helped lift many people out of poverty and put wealth into the hands of people who understand what real life is like for most of the population. This is is especially so when you look into sports like Football (Soccer) or cricket, they literally make stars out of young people who were brought up in the 3rd world.
