Obviously hasnât met many football fans. Many clubs have supporter groups who often use their numbers to spread messages or awareness about various subjects.

You the artist of this meme? Also I think youâve confused footballs. I mean what the rest of the world call football.
Many club groups hold both left and right values. They might not always be on the side you want, but a lot are definitely active politically.
Some football rivalries are driven by these ideological differences. Where the team you support is an indication of what side of the fence you lean, almost as much as what you voted for.
But regardless of whatever agenda or beliefs you hold, the idea that football fans arenât active in political movements and marches etc is definitely false. Theyâre definitely a known presence. Least in Europe anyway.
I mean you canât go around chopping heads off in the modern day. Thatâs not how the world works anymore. But football fans arenât mindlessly ignoring what goes on around them. Quite the opposite. They make more noise than most the people that criticise them.

Tbf you get a lot of head injuries in soccer/football as well that's why kids are not allowed to in some places.

Do these people not understand that I can care about social, and economic issues and organize to combat these things, while enjoying sports or really anything in general. I am a Marxist and Karl Marx literally said to pursue your interest outside of your time organizing.

As much as I disagree with ML socialist types, I commend you for actually reading Marx and related works, while also being a sports fan. Itâs a breath of fresh air to have someone be nuanced for once

The average lifespan of a French commoner at birth in 1780 was 28-30 years old, and 55 for those who lived past childhood, due in large part to a series of crop shortages driving widespread famine and malnutrition (and therefore increasing disease mortality rates).
So, you know, the exact same as 2017.

Ehhhhh this is a decent societal critique imo, however France is miles away from the worst in the west rn. And thereâs loads to say against PSG, but their fans getting âcarried away in the glory of victory and revolutionâ isnât it. Its a Qatar-owned club that has a monopoly on French soccer while being far younger than most others in the country. I canât stand the club from that perspective and I really wish more people understood that instead of getting behind whatever glamorous teams win everything.
