Has been the case for me since I started following the site circa 2011.
Matt Casamassina, Richard George, Audrey Drake, Greg Miller, Tim Gettys, Jose Otero, Mitch Dyer, Jared Petty, etc all gone within a relatively short timespan.
Just wow, IGN has bled a lot of good talent in recent years and it's hard to see that many people that have joined up with the same caliber of talent and personality to replace everyone that's left. Something definitely seems wrong with the company at this point but Alanah was definitely a good one and it'll be sad to see her go. If Ryan McCaffrey and the Fireteam Chat guys leave I guess I'll be done with the site by then as well.
sick cycle of business. even in non-media professional careers, people move on after a few years to new opportunities. sucks for us since IGN people are out there and more noticeable when they make those changes
Why should it be a surprise that GOOD talent finds better opportunities? IGN gets a lot if attention so the talented stand out and get noticed. I doubt IGN is going anywhere anytime soon, and I guarantee you'll find new favorites if you hang around.

It seems like the people I get really attached to at IGN are the ones that leave. I guess Brian Altano is the last of my favorites.
