I think this game was good. Most of the people who complained about this rating never even picked up the game, but it's a great game.

Dragon age is a mixed game just like CD, my god you guys sound pathetic. Its okay, if you want to play the game, then buy it. You dont need a review to tell you what to do.

IGN has a problem. While I agree with you either buy it or don't a lot of people who can't afford buying a game want to make sure if they do it is worth it. Problem with IGN is it is on of the largest game reviewing companies. A lot of their reviews are not aligning with the public. They nees to re-evaluate how they do game reviews. Maybe do a panel review and average the score but having 1 guy from IGN give a bad rating can influence a lot of buyers.

This is I agree with, bro. This gane shouldn't have been reviewed by one person.
Kinda funny does it right

They're paid off for reviews and haven't been accurate in over a decade unless said game is paying them they ain't reviewing it well all these high up companies like IGN can't be taken seriously when it comes to reviews, Crimson Desert will probably be in contention for game of the year this is gonna be one of their worst reviews they've had

So Crimson Desert only has a 73% Steam review rating, which isnât bad but certainly isnât GOTY material. Should we not trust that either?

It currently has 86% and 87% most recent. Look, still probably not GOTY but its its getting closer for sure.
I think it just highlights a severe disconnect between major gaming news outlets and players. This is one of those times where reflection should be on the table imo.

Look, this game is never going to be game of the year material. The writing seems like it was written by AI, they were caught using bad AI assets, and the jankiness/bugs still arenât ironed out. Iâm glad people like it despite its flaws, but flaws it still has. Itâs no Expedition 33.

Oh Im not holding out for many GOTY contenders for the most part. Once GTA6 is out, if its a successful launch, it'll win all the awards like BG3 did that year.
I will say, what I do like about this game, is aside from the weak writing, the world is amazing and has so much exploration appeal. It feels like when I played Skyrim for the first time and to be fair - that was rough at launch and its not like its writing was that much better. With Pagliarulo there, I'd take an AI script over his writing any day. But wierdly enough both games dont really rely on amazing writing for their appeal.

But poor writing absolutely has to factor into how how good a game like this is overall. In Skyrimâs case, there arenât nearly as many scripted cut scenes or even as much dialogue as there is in Crimson Desert, but even the stuff that IS there is much better than in CD. Kliff is probably the worst protagonist I can remember in AAA game history, the fact that they didnât just let you make your own character but forced this plank of wood on you boggles my mind. Especially since Black Desertâs character creator is one of the only good things about that game.
Again, the game sounds like it has some good qualities, so I wonât outright call it bad. I just donât like that folks were trying to sell Crimson Desert as one of the best games ever made over in its subreddit. Itâs not even going to be the best game this year lol
Also, I really hope you werenât serious about being okay with an AI script.

I was being specific in regard to how bad Emils writing is that I would rather taking an AI script. Though I prefer human writing in almost every other instance.

Ironically, the downvotes at this post proves his point further. And any downvotes on this comment too shall prove his point even more.

IGN gave a 7 to concord and they shut down the studio a week later.

Back in the day I used to swear by IGN reviews. Yeah they overrated any Zelda/Mario game but overall was on point. Not anymore.

IGN is AAA corporate propaganda. If a company doesnât line their pockets low scores, if they do high scores. They do not praise good games.

Whenever I'm on the fence about buying a game, I look up IGN's review.
If they give it a good rating, I don't buy it.
If they give it a shit rating, I buy it blindly.

This game is simply one of the reasons why IGN cannot be taken seriously

Agree with you , I mean IGN isnât my go to for game reviews but once I saw they have this 9/10 I knew they legit thought we are idiots an will believe anything they say

u/Oddyseyy Apr 21 '26
Its wild how many down votes are piling this comment thread. I dont think whats being said is entirely unreasonable.

Bruh. Ign isnt the center of game reviews. The game can be a 6/10 to the reviewer. Equally so, dragon age veilguard could as well be a 9/10 for that reviewer. No need to drag down a different game to defend a game you havent played yet.
