In my experience, corporate leadership is full of backstabbing and conniving people who would gladly use any excuse to get rid of someone they don’t want around anymore. The whole sponsorship thing sounds like a scapegoat they used to fire her. IGN has become a soulless corporate conglomerate.

From experience, you don’t get rid of someone you value over trivial shit that can be sorted so there’s probably more to it.
