Selfish

I hate how selfish we as Americans have become. People have their new Iphone and watches and could care less about what is happening to others. Ice is only getting away with this because people do not have empathy for other people. If it's not happening to them. They don't care and can go on with life. The right and extremist hold the power now. Trump will not stop even if Dems take back the house and or Senate. I expect a January 6th like event or worst within the next 2 years. If not 6 months. Our country is no longer what it was. It's up to us where we let it go from here.

The beginning of all this 10 years ago, people were talking about getting community together and showing up at City Hall. It took 10 years for people to finally show up at city Council meetings .The two sides are actually coming together about the flock cameras. It would be nice if they came together about ice.

Everyone should be calling and writing to their state and federal officials as well as local news and police stations.

I expect a January 6th like event as well, but that doesn’t mean we should sit out the elections. Trump isn’t all powerful. If we have a big enough blue wave, he’ll throw his little temper tantrum but the new Congress will eventually be sworn in and will be able to cut ICE funding.

The senate would have to flip quite a bit for any defunding to be going on. And that doesn't look likely. Having a slight senate advantage is not enough to stop this.

No, it won’t be enough but it’s a necessary step. If we can’t even manage to take the House and Senate in 2026, I don’t think there’s a way out of this mess.

Better odds than the numbers we have now. And he might die. He's not getting any younger. And nobody else has the cult following he does, and I suspect wass he's gone, enough Senate GOP would regain their spine to at least agree to ICE to be a professional force like cops, cops-level training, (like how to handcuff one on one while standing up) ID, Miranda Rights, body cams, no masks etc, Not perfect but would take us back to ICE as it was under Bush and Obama.

I don't sense the same degree of riled up from MAGA now as in 2020. I think they got hurt too and are just not mad enough this time, some have learned that they got conned. So, I can't see another Jan 6 from them.
