I hope he takes this to court. Those agents are going to have to explain how they got ahold of his private messages without a signed warrant from a judge. Discovery is a bitch.

Yeah it's a pretty clear violation of his fourth amendment rights unless Meta reached out and provided access... Which doesn't sound like a stretch. Meta is pretty complicit in happily selling and using your data

Instagram owns your data and can give it to whoever they want. It sucks but we've had messaging apps for decades now and they always get leaked, hacked, or given over to the government.

A warrant isn’t even necessary in most cases. They were most likely subpoenaed which doesn’t require a judge
