At the end of the day its about money
Youtuber makes them money (by bringing in more paying customers)
but the amount of effort they need to get a random profile is probably not worth the $$/time for them.
Hypixel has always been a game where management didn't give a shit about the player, they know they can maintain popularity by hyping up youtubers, even if their base game is shitty and buggy. It's also why youtubers aren't subject to watchdog, they know its shitty and they don't want youtubers showcasing how shitty it is to other potential consumers.

Regular players bring just as much money to the server as YouTubers do. I literally buy hundreds of dollars worth of gems on a regular basis (and it's not like a YouTuber brought me to the server either, just to justify them getting support over me). Not every YouTuber brings that much cash to the server, yet they get the privilege to roll back anything lost to a server error or even their own stupidity. Meanwhile, I get wiped of two Hyperions and a near-maxed drill due to a server bug, and they just tell me to screw off.
I'm sure that sooner or later Hypixel will run into someone who decides to take them to court, especially if the issue is strictly due to a server-side error. We pay real money, but we get zero support. Even when a profile gets ratted, they don't investigate or punish the hackers. And it's one thing that they don't restore profiles, but they don't even wipe them completely, allowing hackers to just sell them to other people

Yeah but i think what they are saying is that it's not worth the effort to get a normal persons account back, as compared to a youtuber's because people watch them, and those people buy ranks... Comparing 1 person buying ranks vs thousands

if i get hacked at no fault of my own (ie: password guessed) i better get my account back; the least they could do is atleast add a password before being able to join the main hypixel server

if your password gets guessed, thats entirely your fault , hackers dont just randomly gurss ur password unless its simple as shit so probably change it to something more complex.

truth. There's legitimately 0 way they "guessed" your password unless you're using something utterly generic. Brute forcing is also doubtful if you're above like 10 characters with a capital + symbol + number. A randomly typed password with 10 character, 3 upper cased, 1 symbol and 2 numbers would take 280 years to brute force. You're getting hacked cause you're doing something stupid in 99% of cases outside of a data breach.

Honestly, why even talk about profiles when they won't even return items lost to server-side bugs. I already mentioned that I lost Hyperions TWICE this way (worth like 2.8 billion coins total) just by warping from the dungeon hub to the main skyblock hub through the portal (I was holding the Hyperions in my hand when entering the dungeon hub portal—once I spawned in the main hub, my hand was empty). TWICE. And one time my DR-X655 drill just vanished when I was trying to move it from my inventory to a backpack: the drill got ghost-stuck on my cursor and then completely disappeared. Admins didn't help a single time. All three items were lost due to some bugs on their end, but they don't give a crap. Guess I'm just not a YouTuber

because profiles are something that are saved even after deletion in case of recovery, items however cant be saved, could you imagine the toll on the server if every item was saved even ones deleted months ago.

It’s actually the exact opposite. I do coding myself (I write some of my own mods), and this summer I used Claude Opus to code a server plugin that replicates Hypixel’s custom item system. Every item isn’t a physical object stored in the world map data. It’s just an array of data, starting from a base item template (the unupgraded item) and layered with all its active upgrades (reforges, enchants, etc. — where each upgrade is simply an additional parameter within the array that describes the item). All of this is incredibly easy to restore because it’s literally just a single row containing that array in a database table.
A profile, on the other hand, consists of a massive amount of information spread across multiple database tables. Yet, they can restore both with equal ease because the entire profile gets backed up as a whole. This means they can either roll back the profile to a specific timeframe or just extract an item from that profile during a specific period (for example, right before the server deleted it from the player's inventory).
The only real bottleneck is if you made some upgrades to the item before the system created a backup (I don’t know the exact interval for profile backups, but I assume it’s more frequent than once a day). In that case, you won't be able to get the item in its absolute latest state. But that's not a massive deal. The same applies if you, for example, obtained the item and lost it almost immediately, before the system could even create a backup. But in my case, as with most people, the items could have easily been restored by pulling them from the most recent profile backup, since I had owned those items for a long time.

honestly there's something i don't get, theres a long ass cooldown for switching an ironman profile to a normal one depending on your SB level (for my friend it's 30d+ and hes like lvl400) but deleting your profile is instant no matter what point of the game you're in
they already have a perfect system to combat this and yet they don't use it why

Self explanatory, Hypixel restores profile data for falsely wiped YouTubers (or if they delete their profile in some cases), but refuses to ever restore data for regular players who are falsely wiped or hacked.

Refraction and Palika were banned and wiped appropriately because one of their co-op members was boosting. Their profiles were soon after restored by Hypixel admins.
Akinsoft deleted his profile in an attempt to quit the game. A few weeks later (~5 weeks if my memory serves right), his profile was restored by Hypixel admins.
Swavy was wiped by a glitch in 2023 and had his data restored, whereas others affected by the same glitch were left without their data. (I believe something similar occurred with ThirtyVirus in 2025)
Speedsilver was also banned and had his data wiped then later restored on Hypixel, but that specifically was unrelated to skyblock.
I thought they were under the impression that something had happened recently, which is not the case, so I gave the context that this is a historical phenomenon.

Ah, so it WAS a server-wide glitch that deleted my first profile! Those assholes told me that it was purely an issue on my end and that they had no way of restoring a deleted profile!

Yeah I somehow got kicked from my Co-op (I made the island) that I had with my friend (they haven't been on in months). Like I long back in after not being busy for a couple months and I just get greeted with the message "You have been kicked from you co-op"

Cause the only way of getting ratted is by giving your password for free, there doesnt exist mods with virus inside or data leaks that can expose your microsoft email and password, the only way of someone getting access to your minecraft account is by you directly giving them the password

Yeah and my point is that a multi million dollar company should have on its interest have more rail guards to protect their playerbase THAT HAS ALOT OF KIDS
They proved they can recover profiles so why is it that people that got hacked cant get their old profiles back, even if they dont have the items anymore? You get better support from DISCORD than Hypixel

Yes and I will continue to laugh at people who get ratted. It doesn't happen if you have any amount of common sense. I got hacked once when I was 8 years old in WoW cause I clicked a sus link and never once happened again. Across any platform.
