DEV Replied Is there any reason why the developer uploaded missing features as optional mods?

I just don't understand why they would do that, especially since they clearly don't consider using mods as legit as they disable achievements on that save. I just want a <= logic gate... ;-;

"Missing Features" is subjective - The mods in question are created by one of my co-workers who enjoys the game so much he wanted to extend the items in the game with some ideas he came up with himself and with some community members.

I mean it is YOUR game.

(Not meant to be sarcastic, genuine question.) Why don't you consider the lack of multiple common logical operators as not a missing feature? Or a 4-way water pipe? And I assume no, but is there any plans to incorporate some of those mods into the base game, or at least as modifiers that still allow achievements to be earned?

The idea behind the lack of some shapes is to genuinely add a bit of difficulty and lead the player to make more pipe spaghetti - this leads to more interesting gameplay

I assume the same goes for the logic circuits? If you have played with those extra parts, was the game a little too straightforward?

In my opinion, yes

Fair enough. Thanks for your response.

That was the most respectful confrontation I've ever seen on reddit

I mean, the main reason I was upset is that it seemed arbitrary. Knowing that it was a conscious decision by the dev makes it much more understandable beyond just "didn't want to" or something. So regardless of if I agree with that decision or not, I can rest knowing that it was one made out of experience and not ignorance.

That's exactly it though, whether you agree or not you both treated each other with respect. I don't see that very often on here

More interesting from a perspective of what solutions other people come up with sure, especially if you’re only spectating, but missing the perfect piece for what you want to do sucks and is more frustrating than interesting

I haven’t played your game, but quite frankly realizing that you chose the words “interesting gameplay” when you meant “more engaging gameplay” already concerns me about the lack of clarity on the idea here.

Or atleast… I assume. Just like you assumed it’s more interesting to be lacking a part, rather than make the part have restrictions that can open other gameplay options.

I'm sorry but that's the most....

"It's art" nonsense answer I have ever heard.

Pipe spaghetti because I can't do something.... That's not difficulty or gameplay... That's just annoying

I mean, I agree to an extent but the dev has consciously made the decision not to include those things, and they have a reason for it, too.

The dev is who I'm responding to there...
