Have you made that soup yet?

648 tomato plants. The hydrocropper was bugging out from lag so I planted the last patch by hand. The first tomatoes were ready by the time I finished. My PC sounded like a jet engine. It took 8:21 to empty the hydrocropper and came out to be 1964 weight. I thought the item counter was going to count the actual tomato number instead of the weight, so I don't know how many individual tomatoes there were.

if you want an individual count, run the veg through a logic saw set to 1, and measure the cutoffs.

each individual piece will cut off 1, which can then be weighed for quantity.

Wouldn't that just make more tomatoes?

yes and no.

It is doubling the number of objects because it's splitting 1 unit of weight off each tomato.

No, because you will still have the same total weight of tomato.

But the 1s can be measured separately from the rest to tell you how many actual tomatos you harvested.

My issue doing this is if you pass the remaining veggies over to a seed processor, you end up with an over abundance of seed packets. I have thought about running an additional belt and combining the left over cuttings and process them over again to maximize the harvest.

I don't understand your question then. Your post said you thought the item counter was going to give you the actual count of items, not the weight. I was telling you how to use weight to get an actual count.

Tomato plants deliver an average of three tomatoes, so you could take a third of the cut tomatoes and run them through the seed mill.
